I take my own oil and filter to a place and they change it for me.

$20....cash.

I started giving them $25 the last oil change because a felt I little bad with inflation and all. I want them to stay open.

$20-25 is well worth my time.

Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0-20 5 quarts - $33
Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filter - $12

= $45 and 15 minutes of my time.

I change it about every 5k miles.

Lord knowns what the dealership would charge me for the same quality.

My truck was $74.95 for 8 quarts 0w20 and a tire rotation this morning at the Chevy dealership. I also had a $20 coupon in my email bringing it to $55. It would cost that to do it myself these days.

Where do you all buy and recycle used oil at? Walmart seems to be cheapest, do they take old oil? Is it a PITA?

you can bring used oil to almost any autozone, Orlieys, carquest, advanced auto etc. Buy a 10 quart or so drain pan and bring it into the store for disposal. it is super easy.

i have been doing my own lately. 2019 F150 5.0 pre covid was $60, now it is over $100 at ford quicklane. I buy the motorcraft filer and oil and do it myself for about $50. Yes the oil has gone up in price but not 50% like the dealerships are charging.

Got a new car a couple months ago so ill be riding free services for a couple years at least. I think the dealership I got it from is pretty fair from what I've seen plus they offer buy 4 get the 5th change free which is nice.

I would love to know how much the price of a quart of oil has gone up...they seem to be adding a ton for labor also

If you have a European car, use FCP Euro. They replace the oil and filter at no cost. They have a lifetime warranty on everything they sell, and as I understand it, that includes oil. All you pay is shipping. No idea what shipping is. Guy I know did this for a Porsche.

Not a horrible price.

$28.88 for full synthetic at Matt Bowers. They try to sell a bunch of "repairs" but I am pretty good at saying no. I can't buy the oil and filter for what they charge to replace the oil in a 5.7 hemi.

I think mine are around $100 at the GMC and Audi dealers. Though I only drive 7-10k a year split between 2 vehicles so I don't have to change the oil that often

I pay about $85 at Nissan and about $90 at Toyota. This is for an oil change and tire rotation.

For the Toyota, it is on a 10K synthetic oil change, so on the 5K intervals between oil changes, I bring it for a tire rotation which is about $40.

Nissan is Premier Nissan in Metry, Toyota is Toyota of New Orleans in the east (I think they are part of the same "family" as Premier). My Camry has just under 100K miles and my Pathfinder about 55K. They are busy so I want about 2 hours on a Sat morning, but I just bring my laptop and work. Neither place has ever even tried to hassle me about silly repairs, "brake line flush" or anything like that.

I think at those prices, the oil change isn't a loss leader, so maybe less pressure for games?

I haven’t paid for an oil change in two years and I still have 1 free one left on my wife’s car and enough Ford Pass points for 2 more free ones on my truck.
