re: Battery Power Construction tools

Posted by lsuCJ5 on 2/12/26 at 12:41 pm to
I've used ridgid for over 15 years now. They used to warranty the tools and batteries for life but from what i understand it is maybe limited to 3 years now. in those 15 years, i have not had one single tool break. I still have my original 2 ANH batteries but they are almost useless now. If i ever made a swap it would be the Milwaukee.

what general area do you live? Im in the Raleigh area. One place i went that advertised Cajun Seafood, just went out of business....It was horrible. But there are few few decent ones in the area.

As others mentioned, order some roux and rotisserie chicken can make a decent quick gumbo.
I have one that is about 10 years old and it was so loud you could hear it outside. I bought a kit with oem bearings and a Chinese installation kit and swapped it by myself. It would have been a lot easier with some help. Try it, watch YouTube, you can do it.
That’s probably the best power train ford has offered in years. But the price seems steep to me. I bought a 24 lariat last year with 9k miles for 52.5. My father in law has a 2006 with the 4.6 with over 200k on it. Has done nothing but tires and oil changes. Maybe look for an older 4.6 if you lookin for something a little cheaper.

we are using a trolling motor clamp for an extension for our older 25 HP right now. The 40 i am rebuing will need electric start and tilt and trim controls which is why i am looking for the big tiller.

yamaha big tiller handle

My son and I are rebuilding a 2003 yamaha C40 2 stroke and it didn't come with any controls or a tiller handle. There are new ones out there but they are over $700. Anyone know of a mechanic or repair shop that might have a used one laying around?

re: Truck Board: 2025 Tundra SR5

Posted by lsuCJ5 on 1/21/26 at 12:24 pm to
i gave my son my 2021 tacoma and i seriously considered a tundra. They drive great and have good power. When compared to other manufacturers, they are still thirsty. They still have a bad wrap from the issues they were having with some of the first 3.5 turbo engines they released in 2022. Heck, i see some people with 24's having issues. It has really hit their legendary resale values. I ended up getting a 24 f 150 lariat with the 3.5 ecoboost. believe it or not i can get almost 22 mpg with a crew cab 4x4. It pulls really good but thirsty when hauling anything.

look up their resale and reliability
lots of Scandinavian ancestry there that brings their white guilt/ultra-liberal ways with them. I have been there several times over the past few years, not for me bruh. Only state that Regan lost is 84, it have been downhill since.
not as bad as some of the stories, but growing up we had a camp on the atchafalaya river. There was a fish market next to the boat launch we used. At the end of the day the fish market would have an old truck bed filled with fish guts that would be dumped in the river. On any given hot summer day that trailer was not the best smelling thing in the world.

I have a 16 ft with a tiller handle, i use as a beater. 40hp yamaha 4 stroke. ITs still carbed so not much to work on. finding a beater will teach him how to work on it and fix it, but will give some rough patches out on the water.

i helped my son buy a 14/42 with a 2 stroke Yamaha 25. It is about as basic as you can get. the boat has a title, but the trailer did not. I am working on getting the trailer legal right now. The boat had no floor and no wiring. We are currently adding lights and a bilge pump and a aluminum floor. We rewired the trailer for taillights. The bottom had a decent dent, so we fixed that yesterday. The engine is an older 2 stroke Yamaha, but it is a single carb 2 stroke with literally 5 wires.

Hopefully we will have it going soon so he can hit the water. I am looking too to get libality insurance on it through progressive.

re: Crawfish farming in the Carolinas ...

Posted by lsuCJ5 on 8/21/25 at 1:06 pm to
I am in Raleigh and was going to mention eastern crawfish. I am a cook for the LSU Alumni Raleigh chapter. We typically either have crawfish driven up from Louisiana for fly them on Southwest for our annual boil. We have tried sourcing from local places but no one can produce 600 lbs in a day or two for a large boil. I am not familiar that what South Carolina has to offer, but you can find them here but they are expensive. Good luck if you decide to do it.

same in the Raleigh greater area. They all have Tesla's and cannot drive worth a damn. They have taken over some new development neighborhoods and don't keep up $800k + homes.
i will need a truck by the end of the year, giving mine to my son in december. GM seems to have some decent prices on the LT/LTZ's with the 5.3. Are they as bad as everyone makes them seem like right now. MY wife has a 22 tahoe Z71 with the 5.3 that has been great so far.

I considered the tundra but man the new ones have a horrible resale and im not sold on a turbo yet. Ive had a few ford's with the 5.0 in the past few years that were trouble free as well.

Ive had decent luck with fishbooker.com in St Augustine area. just look at their reviews and client pictures.
the gm drop down tailgates make it easy to load a dirt bike. that's all i got.

re: Product for emergency fund

explain it to me like a am a 5 years old. I have built up a decent emergency fund and i have it in a Capitol one account earning 3.6%. I do have a Fidelity FOD account i fund weekly for my mortgage that does earn some interest as well. I have Fidelity VUG EFT that has done great. Can I invest in it and pull it when i need with no penalty?
