What are y’all paying for oil changes? I just got hit for $93 for an oil change at the Toyota dealer on my daughters car? Is this the going rate now? I just about choked in my coffee.

It's gone up, but not THAT much.

I pay about $90 for one of those drive thru places. However, I know I'm paying more for the convenience and accept that.

This is why you ask before you arrive at the checkout. I change my own but I use synthetic that guarantees extended drains so long term (over the course of a year) I save money......and time......and surprises.

Took my daughter's Rav 4 to Benny's a couple of days ago. Quoted $153.00--just for an oil change. F that nonsense.

Don’t go to the Toyota dealership they’re a total rip off. Cost me over $100 for oil change and tire rotation a few months ago

I think I’ve spotted your problem

My last 2 oil changes at Take 5 averaged $125.

I think mine is about $70 with an extra quart of oil

It's a car? Figured those were cheaper than trucks.
I was taking my Tundra to the dealership to have them change the oil and rotate tires until recently. I changed the oil on all my previous trucks, but as was mentioned, the convenience was worth the extra for awhile on my current truck. I've gone back to changing my own oil because the dealership was already at $130 for oil and tire rotation and they were just using conventional oil. I wanted to go longer than 5,000 miles and I now pay less for 15,000 mile oil changes than I did for 5k mile changes. I still change it at 10,000 miles because I don't fully trust the whole 15k. Takes me about an hour to do. An hour I would have otherwise spent sitting in the lobby of a dealership or shop to change it.

I get the oil changed at the dealership on my truck since I have a lifetime powertrain warranty if I get the maintenance done there. It's about $65. I change the oil on my wife's vehicle myself and it's about $35.

They have gone up significantly.....especially synthetic. I try to catch the special at my local shop.

Those cheap advertised prices don't include synthetic..a significant cost upgrade or additional quarts of oil which they charge out the nose for so trucks and SUVs always cost much more.

The last time I went to my local Jiffy Lube it was $80 and it was NOT Jiffy. I sat there over an hour.
And to add insult to injury, the dude pops in to suggest I put on new wiper blades because mine were "looking really worn". I had just put new blades on the week before.
I smiled and said no thanks. When I left I went to O'Reily and bought a oil drain pan started changing my own.
I have a 4x4 Tacoma so it sits up high enough for me to just slide under, no need for ramps. I can get 6 Toyota OEM oil filters from Amazon $24 and 5 quarts of Mobil 1 full synthetic for a little over $20.
So for around $30 and in under 30 minutes I can change my own and know it was done right.
I have ramps for the wife's Audi and change hers as well. And Audi says every 10K miles, so it's a long time before I even need to mess with it. She is a low mileage driver.
Lastly, there's a feeling of "rightness" when you do some of your own vehicle maintenance. For me anyway.

Change my own and it takes all of 15 minutes, cost approx $40.
Truck takes 8 quarts full synthetic.

That's what I pay synthetic and tire rotation at the place I go to for my 4Runner. I bring to a small family owned place and the guy that runs it is very thorough and will let me know if I should be considering any preventative maintenance

I had mine changed a couple months ago for less than $40

I’m usually between $100 and $115. The ford Coyote engines apparently take a lot of oil.

I pay $89 at my dealer for my 6.6 gas burner that takes 8qts
