New Orleans Metro Out of Control… where to move to?

I think we are going to see more and more of an exodus. The problems are creeping into East Jeff Parish every day too. Many have moved to the Northshore but we all see the threads and posts here constantly from posters who have moved out of state and love it.
For a couple with kids where is the best place to move in the US and why? Florida and Tennessee seems like top options to me.

We don't need you worthless white rednecks clogging up our streets and festivals anyway. It's obvious you don't appreciate the finer things of metropolitan culture.

First place to look is anywhere you can live near family. With kids, it is impossible to quantify how much stress is lowered when you have someone that can help watch the kids in a pinch or even just give you 1hr for dinner with your spouse once in a while.
After that, probably look for low cost of living and low population densities.

TX, TN, parts of AL, FL. Many people who still work in New Orleans have moved to the MS Gulf Coast and just commute.

It all depends on your goals and what you think would make you and your family happy. But move if you can. NOLA is too depressing

Sold my house in lakeview last week; such a relief; think we are leaving the region.

what are your goals, do you have family any place else, how old are kids and what is your occupation?

If there is nothing tying you to LA, don't move somewhere else in LA. Break the cycle and get out. Wish I could do so

The Northshore was full 20 years ago.

Moved from the Northshore to the West Bank to escape the creeping crime as it took over much of Slidell. Now watching the same garbage creep from Algiers towards the west....
We are hoping to hold out until our son graduates and we are out of here....

Priorities matter. What do you care about? If you want a safe place to live and raise your kids I'd say somewhere in the Midwest that isn't a major metro.

Atlanta has the same problems but at least has schools in the suburbs

DeRidder has room for you.

Try East Cobb and Woodstock... great areas with great schools.

I moved from NOLA in 01 to FL and love it here. I would also look at the mountains of NC. Asheville is kind of shitty politics wise but the surrounding areas are awesome.

Texas would be my first choice, but not Houston.

Pick a municipality under 25,000 with over 90% Caucasian population in a state that has voted for a Republican the last 4 presidential elections (preferably over 57%).
Overall, the US is screwed and eventually headed for some form of civil war but that could be 20 years away.
Our founding fathers were well intentioned but Chile’s Presidential form of government only lasted 150 years. The US is going on 250 years and showing major signs of imploding. Parliamentary systems aren’t significantly better, but the social decay in those nations doesn’t approach what is going on in the US.

Lafayette/Lake Charles type area if you wanna stay in Louisiana. You simply have to be in strong republican strongholds to feel better.
Nobody here wants to admit it, but New Orleans/ Baton Rouge are simply going drastically in the wrong direction. They literally elect people already under indictments and think it's OK.
There are great things in both areas, but it isn't anything you can't get elsewhere
