I've been in Old Metairie for the last 22 years. It has NOT gotten worse, it's about the same, maybe better.

Especially since the street backing up to my side yard was rezoned from R-2 to R-1. No more old houses replaced with townhouse doubles.

Bay St. Louis abs Ocean springs are great places to raise Kids. Baldwin County Alabama is also solid, if you checks that stats on these towns you will notice something missing other than crime which will help you in your search

Good for you, NOLA is trash. It’s what happens when those types are in charge

It's a pretty stereotypical attitude of the pretentious urban dweller. Their identity is centered around the notion that they're better than everyone else and anything that criticizes their narcissistic fantasies is seen as an existential threat because they know deep down that they're wrong.

This is true. Like we were still playing the covid game and white liberals in New Orleans acted like everyone else were the crazy idiots. Not them, the ones that wanted vaccine mandates for five year olds, driving with masks in in their cars.

Woke is not an adjective I would associate with St. Tammany at all.

I disagree.

St. Tammany isn’t what it used to be.

Is it still nice, yes...for now. However, Section 8 is here, these massive apartment complexes will turn to shite over time, and the criminal element will become larger.

It is slowly seeping in.

I don’t plan on leaving, as my extended family lives here. However, I won’t pretend that Democrats aren’t moving in, and bringing their cancerous (identity based) ideology with them.

The cancer in NOLA is metastatic. All surrounding areas will eventually succumb. I am watching Metairie turn to shite day by day. It is slow until you realize you are engulfed in the type of change that isn't aligned with how you want to live in a community. NOLA crime is the canary in the coal mine.

Slidell = New Orleans East (happening NOW)
Covington = the West Bank (happening soon)
Mandeville = Metairie

We moved to Covington 5 yrs ago,
(off of 1085/Bootlegger Rd). Just about everyone in our subdivision are from Metairie and Lakeview and are all very conservative. We love it here.
