You’re right. OP wouldn’t have a stepson without it.

Why TF did you let your stepson rent an apartment in that area?

That area needs to be bulldozed and replaced.

It won't improve until they get rid of all the, non college students.

Probably doesn’t rent in that area. I’ve walked that same road many times after a night in Tigerland to get to different apartments on Brightside. Really stupid of me, but when you’re hammered, the quickest way home is the best way.

Does LSU have a redevelopment corporation that can help kick start this process? I know that those kinds of things have worked for other universities in the past to help reclaim the neighborhoods around their campuses from the encroaching hordes.

My response to him once I learned he was safe would be what did you learn from this?

Proper answer, do not be out in Tigerland at 1 am, that increases your chances of having this happen.

I know this area has had it's share of crime in the past so I hope the police up their patrols in this area so this kind of thing will not become the norm!
BRPD already has a bunch of squad cars in the area. However they just sit together in front of the bars and talk instead of patrolling the area.

The only time that walk is acceptable is after a home game and there are 100+ people making the walk. Even then it is sketchy.

Had he carried we would have likely seen bodies hit the floor. A damn shame he didnt rid the world of this scum.

I always have my gun on my body and watch every POS like a hawk around me. If anyone even steers my way i have my eyes and body ready to put two quick in their being.

Tired of victims; need more aggressors. frick this scum. Sorry about what happened hope he learned his lesson on life now that he is blessed to live to tell about it.

Tigerland mostly isn't students now. It's full of Section 8 and illegals. I really wish a developer could buy all of those properties and bulldoze them. It's a great location but unfortunately not a safe area.

frick section 8.

When did this happen to tigerland? It wasn't that way in early 2000's right?

Literally in the middle of the projects. Is your son really liberal and thinks the media is to blame for stereotypes? He knows better now... glad he's ok.

One of the best players in Ragin Cajun history. He's in our hall of fame too

That area around Sharlo has some rough complexes. I would highly advise parents to spend more money to get their kids away from that dump.

Did uber refund that?

Lyft will automatically do it sometimes if the driver makes a wrong turn

Alvin Dark and Sharlo at 1AM is probably the closest you will get to 3rd world country in BR.
