Surprised I never got robbed making that walk from tigerland back to Harwich back in 2009-2010. Of course I never walked. I would take my shoes off and run.

Area around Tigerland is no longer safe. I wouldn’t let my kid live there. It’s ghetto now. A lot of people get mugged around there. And I know quite a few people living around there in Southgate that have either been mugged, had their car broken into or stolen completely, or had their apartment broken into. A lot of the area off campus around LSU is dangerous now, they know students are easy targets

My truck got broken into so many times when I lived in Tigerland that I just started leaving the doors unlocked so I wouldn't keep having to fix windows or door locks

Sorry that happened but it really is a terrible place to walk alone at 1am...lesson learned and glad he is OK.
I lived in Tiger Plaza way back in the mid 80s. Alvin Dark area was low rent but still relatively safe back then. The decline of that area since then is breathtaking. Bulldozer the only solution.

Yeah, I wouldn't have walked through Tigerland 10 years ago, even in broad daylight. It's a shame what that area has become.
Glad your son is ok. I was also robbed at gun point while I was at LSU, but it was in a little safer part of town (but not super-safe) and I probably could have avoided it by paying more attention to my surroundings and not making bad decisions.

I'm glad your son is ok, but damn come on. What is he thinking walking there? Walk down Nicholson or just take an Uber. That area has been sketchy for as long as I've known Br.
