Is it frowned upon to want to watch a movie

Unfortunately, yes. You will need to wait for a minimum of three YouTubers to give their approval before you’re allowed to want to see a movie.

The Holocaust angle was an add-on from the 80's. It wasn't a part of Magneto's original history. Now, it's an amazing addition if you're cementing someone as an anti-hero, but even then it was dating the character.

I had no idea. I had assumed since it’s so prevalent in the movies and new show that it was always his backstory.

Good thing they did that switch in the 80s because it would be woke to do it now.

I may just be weirdly hyperfocusing on something here because “clues” but when Rhys first comes in and sees his son sitting there he says “You were in the basement?” (Or something like that) and seemed genuinely freaked out. The son then said he was in his bedroom.

I heard that and assumed he has multiple hiding spots for the letters from his wife. There is a definite possibility of something more compelling, but I’m not sure what it could be.
I liked how they handled the conversation between Tom and his son. I know Rhys has no problem playing a depressed guy since he did it for the entire run of The Americans, but even I was impressed with his delivery when he was showing his wife’s photos.

“Oh because they make me sadder than I already am.” :wah:

I’m glad they resolved that issue instead of dragging it out like most shows would, although his son will hate him again for canceling the trip to Boston.

It’s so impressive how they are able to fully invest you in those scenes and immediately have you laughing when it switches back to Patricia gasping for air because she is running too much.

Would that have changed one of the character's current history? Yeah.

At some point soon they will need to do this if they keep rebooting them, which we all know they will. You’d be pushing 90 to have any memory of the Holocaust at this point. It’s either more period pieces or an updated backstory.

Patricia fans gonna love this one.

Guilty. Give her the Emmy now.

When they opened the ambulance door to show her still holding the shotgun, I lost it. I didn’t get it back until after the cremation. All while Enya was playing in the background.

Whenever I remember this movie, all I can think about is this tweet.

I’ve been lurking in these threads since I started watching when season 2 was airing. I’m just here to say if anything happens to Donna, I will riot. The past two episodes have been too stressful.

TIL he's the co-creator of the show and credited as a writer on every episode.

He is also married to one of the other co-creators. Based on his character in the show and his interviews, I was more than a little surprised to see she was a woman.

Might try and pick it back up at some point

I think it’s worth picking up again, although Common’s acting throughout the series is a bit more cringe than that Ferguson turbine scene.

Not to derail my own thread, but you should start Widow’s Bay first if you haven’t already. Best show on Apple since Severance.

This is streaming on Netflix now. Going to give it a shot tonight.
There has to be more graphic novels out there he can adapt frame by frame like 300 and Watchmen. Those are easily his best movies. Even in those, the stuff he came up with on his own are the worst parts.

this show kind of lost me in the last two eps.

What didn’t you like about them?
I can’t believe they shot Marshawn Lynch in the dick.
He’s just a producer and his involvement gives me hope this is Cloverfield-adjacent. It was written and directed by the guy that made It Follows.
Reminds me of my favorite armor variant in Halo.

I didn’t love it, but I’m glad I watched it in theaters. Definitely worth checking out on discount day tomorrow (Wednesday for AMC).
10 total. I don’t think we will get double episodes again, so the finale should air 6/14. Apple says Wednesdays, but the episodes are available Tuesdays at 8pm central.
I’m really hoping the next episode is another Patricia-focused one like Beach Reads. I’m getting Scream vibes from the episode picture and the Boogeyman is due for a return.
