This happened on Alvin Dark and Sharlo ave around 1 am.

I know he shouldn't have been walking home alone but damn this isn't a freaking third world country and students who decide NOT to get into a car and drive after drinking shouldn't have to worried about losing their lives.

I know this area has had it's share of crime in the past so I hope the police up their patrols in this area so this kind of thing will not become the norm!

Two Dudes got an Iphone 5 and $20 for their troubles.

Reason for this post is to make sure if you know someone that attends LSU just be careful out there leaving TigerLand.

Those robbers made off with $3.50!

And Alvin Dark has always been shady AF. Glad your boy is ok though.

I lived on Alvin Dark from 1999-2001 and it wasn't great then. I can't believe that I never got robbed stumbling home from Fred's at 2am.

I made that walk alone many, many times when I was in college.

This isn't a "could have happened to me" post, but more like a "probably should have happened to me" one.

That area may as well be 3rd world. Walking anywhere around there is just unsafe at anytime of night. Uber/Lyft always.

20 bucks is a lot of money for a person with no job, and no way to get one since they are being kept down by the white man

You should teach your stepson about uber. It came out about 8 years ago, just like a cab but on your phone. Would have cost him about $5 to get home.

he knows about Uber and uses it often but his duplex is only a half mile walk home you would think Baton Rouge would have a safe area for students to walk home but I guess we are too busy with paying for diversity studies to put money in police patrols.

Tell your son to get a drug dealer in a better part of town.

Is that area almost completely Section 8 now?

Fist Fights in the parking lots, and gunfights on the walk home.

Sorry about your stepson getting robbed, also sorry he didn't pick up.

Tigerland mostly isn't students now. It's full of Section 8 and illegals. I really wish a developer could buy all of those properties and bulldoze them. It's a great location but unfortunately not a safe area.

This is what happens when there is a breakdown in the nuclear family.

Why would you think that. He was literally walking through the housing projects.
