I can't specifically speak to the LA labs but many labs use Sunday to clean, QA/QC, calibration, etc. A new 2-min test was approved today to go with a 5-min test, soon most testing will be done onsite and not sent off to labs.

We're on day 7 of the stay at home order. The effectiveness of the order can't really be determined yet.

Test are starting to come back much sooner...these test that are being dumped were done last week...
The test that started over the weekend and yesterday should start dropping in the next day or so

That may be correct. The numbers continue to be very back looking.
Also, I know of at least 2 who died in a hospital in Louisiana this last week who came in with exotic bacterial infections but who died very quickly from ARDS, suggesting that Covid immunosuppression made people more susceptible to things they would have otherwise been able to fight off. Neither were tested for Covid (Why waste a test on the dead?). So as with all things, there is some play in the numbers. Unfortunately I have not been made aware of any play on the good side of the number, just on the "it should probably be higher" side.

Quickly looking at the parish breakdowns, looks like JP is very efficient. 2,463 tests, 1,193 +
Some other parishes:
Orleans: 6.7k tests, 1.8k+
Caddo: 7.2k tests, 242 +
Lafayette: 3.7k tests, 118 +

Some of these numbers make no sense though. Clicking around on the LDH website it seems to me that St Charles and St John have more cases than they've ran tests. How is that possible?

Orleans Parish "shutdown" before the rest of the state, so it will be interesting to see if the numbers for Orleans start to level off in a week or so, and if the rest of the state follows that curve a week or so later.
