Once the vent # hit around 600+, we might start seeing 50 deaths daily.
Read many sources on 50% of those on vent die. LA might fare even worse.

Adding to you and the person that noted how the numbers lag behind, this group was probably tested a 5-7 days ago. Incubation is 2-14 days which means most of them likely got sick right around or before the stay at home went into effect.
Hopefully we will see results of the stay at home in mid april

People keep saying this but it doesnt appear that is a plan at this point. Some states are pushing into June.

This is by far the worst part.
I know someone who's father passed away last week from it. He never got the chance to say goodbye really, dad was in a senior living facility and went straight to a hospital and a vent, family was never allowed to come visit to say goodbye.
To make matters worse, his mother (married to his father) passed away about 3 weeks ago, was never diagnosed but they think she might have had it and gave it to him.

I believe the designate cases by where the person lives but tests by the location of the testing/
St. Charles and St. John folks were going to New Orleans to get tested.

My wife’s grandmother is in her 90’s and in a nursing home and they called in Hospice yesterday. They’re giving her a week to live. None corona related but it sucks bc the family isn’t allowed to see her and say goodbye and they won’t be able to have a funeral. It’s really sad.
They’ve been preparing for over a year for this time to come and now that it’s here there’s nothing they can do.

even though it cant be relied on (as we've disucssed previously) look at Rando's post, the numbers look like were one day behind the Italy pace on cases and two days behind on deaths
better medicine over here maybe

Gotcha. Or I guess it could even be that they went by driver's license address and not even actual place of residence?
