Another night. Another report or explosions in Sevastopol.
Disclaimer: Only source that I have seen mention it and the source is highly pro-Ukrainian so take with a grain of salt.
ETA: Second source with video.

It isn't Russia and by not conquering all of Ukraine, Russia is most definitely losing.

Why no news on the massive assault by Russia the last two days, just curious, seems the international press is concerned about the air defenses of ukraine weakening with the number of drones, missiles getting through.

ISW Update
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Ukrainian forces struck a Black Sea Fleet (BSF) communications center in occupied Sevastopol, Crimea, and reportedly struck an oil depot and at least partially damaged two BSF landing ships on the night of March 23.
Russian forces conducted a series of drone and missile strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure on the night of February 23 to 24, mainly targeting southern and western Ukraine.
Russian forces are reportedly approaching the outskirts of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk Oblast but are unlikely to threaten the settlement with encirclement or seizure in the coming months.
The seizure of Chasiv Yar would offer Russian forces limited but not insignificant operational benefits if they could achieve it.
The Islamic State’s (IS) Amaq News Agency published footage on March 23 purportedly filmed from the perspective of the attackers involved in the March 22 Crocus City Hall attack.
Russian officials proposed more anti-migrant policies in response to the Crocus City Hall attack.
Chechen Republic Head Ramzan Kadyrov expressed concerns about Russian ultranationalist reactions to the Crocus City Hall attack.
Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Donetsk City amid continued positional fighting along the entire line of contact on March 24.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on March 23 establishing a legal basis for enrolling members of the All-Russian Cossack Society into the Russian military’s mobilization reserve, likely as part of ongoing crypto-mobilization and military formalization efforts.

No news? What is this then?

2 hypersonic missiles got through in the Lviv region. Those hypersonic missiles were fired over Belarus and routed through Poland.
quote:
Air defences destroyed 18 of 29 inbound missiles and 25 of 28 attack drones, the air force said.
Ukraine intercepted 60% of the missiles and 90% of the drones. It also intercepted all of the missiles aimed at Kyiv.

Maybe pay attention instead formulating bad ideas in your head.

Ukraine claims this is the command center where 40 people were killed including a dozen officers (at night). Russia says it hasn't been used in years, claiming nobody was killed.
As far as the second ship listing, not sure how you can tell that from this picture. I also don't know if that is fuel, if it was, why isn't the other ship leaking any fluids? It had an even closer hit, seems like sediment to me. I read Tyler Rogaway's breakdown and he didn't mention anything about fuel or confirmed hits on that ship. Looks like the missiles missed to me, sure there is probably some secondary damage but nothing catastrophic.
Like usual, I am sure the truth is somewhere in between the reports from both sides.

Even if Russia conquers Ukraine will they be left with an Iraq situation? Military is conquered but plenty who harbor a very deep hatred of the occupying Russians who killed their families for Putin's desire for territorial gain, they won't just abide and be peaceful citizens of Russia now.

Russia continues to focus on the grid. The Kharkiv grid situation sounds much worse, I keep hearing there will be issues there for quite a while.

or the Mayor of Kharkiv
quote:
All substations in Kharkov, as well as a thermal power plant, were destroyed, city Mayor Igor Terekhov claims.
“There is no answer to the question of how long the restoration work will take. Repair teams are working, but there is very serious damage, all transformer substations are destroyed, the thermal power plant is destroyed,” he said.

Torture of the ISIS guys:
We already know about the one guy forced to eat his own ear.
Another of the terrorists, named Muhammadsobir Fayzov, was brought into court in a wheelchair and unconscious.
Video
Another guy was electroshocked in the gonads:
Photo
Now, I want to be clear about the point I am making. I have zero sympathy for the terrorists, who deserve the worst torture imaginable. In fact, I believe that they will ultimately be tortured in hell for eternity is ways that go beyond our understanding.
The problem with Russia publicly torturing these guys is that it shows everyone that the pretension of the rule of law in Russia is over.
Torture is bad -- not because the bad guys don't deserve it, but because of the damage it does to the people doing it and to the public.
Because if Russia will torture these guys because they deserve it, they will torture others because they deserve it. It's why the denialism about Bucha and other Russian horrors in Ukraine is so transparently stupid -- Russia has embraced barbarism in the pursuit of a "Greater Russia."

Exactly why those that come here and act if Putin and Russia are righteous people who are only acting in self defense.
Torturing these terrorists is second nature to the Russians. It is who they are.
