re: "Weakest Team" In Omaha

genuinely believe there are no weak teams in this year's tournament; each squad possesses unique strengths that could carry them to victory

This is one of the weakest fields in years. You don't think that the national title would be harder to win if the top 8 national seeds had all won and made it to Omaha?

The only way that I can make sense of the firing is if the Knicks are about to trade for a superstar who doesn't want to play for Thibs.

Otherwise, that team is going downhill next season.

I don't know for sure that the Knicks are going to get KD, but I can definitely believe that he would want to go back to NYC

When the first guy came in with only 6 innings pitched the whole year they are telling you we concede Game 1 we will take our chances in the next 2 games

Nope. You absolutely can't concede Game 1 of a Super when you are only down two runs. This was WV's best chance to win a game. Their starter was widely considered a very good pitcher. Whoever they put up tomorrow isn't worthy to be mentioned in the same sentence as Eyanson.

You can fly to Paros. My favorite island. It’s like 45 minute flight from Athens.

That's the thing. With a decent connection time, you can fly to a number of Greek islands faster than ferrying to them. And the flight is unlikely to be expensive. Pick out an island.

What interests you? Some islands have dramatic hiking, others have medieval monasteries or ancient ruins, while others feature cute towns or beautiful beaches.
Marriott does not enforce brand standards, episode 849. Hyatt, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, and Choice all enforce brand standards better than Marriott does. Marriott just lets hotel owners do whatever they want.

There was also a supposed mandate to get rid of Zion. That doesn’t look to be happening

No, there wasn't. Where do people come up with this stuff? It was perfectly obvious from the beginning that Dumars was brought onboard was to try to manage Zion and get him to achieve his potential.

Wow, I thought they were healthy. I was eating them to lose weight. Thanks so much for educating me.

I still don’t understand how Dumars can say he can’t properly evaluate willy right now and has to wait and see how he does.

Has everyone forgotten that the actual reason that Griff was let go was that he wanted to fire Willie Green, and ownership wouldn't let him?

Why is everyone here acting surprised that Dumars is spinning some obvious BS as to why he isn't firing Willie? Y'all thought that he would actually say, "Well, I wanted to fire him, but Gayle doesn't want me to do that." Really?
In last 20 seasons, the Nets have had 14 head coaches. The Kings have had 12. The Pistons, Bucks, and Timberwolves have each had 10. The Grizzlies have had 9. Even with Phil Jackson there through the 2010-11 season, the Lakers have had 9.

So, yeah, lots of teams go through coaches like bathwater: use 'em, and dump 'em down the drain.

The Winston points system rewarded consistency for the whole year.

But that's why so many people didn't like it. You could have guys like Terry Labonte win only two races in 1996 and win the cup. Don't get me wrong -- I was a huge fan of Terry, but he was a gentleman, and most fans loved rooting for more aggressive drivers like Dale.
I asked ChatGTP to give me the average tenure of coaches in the last 20 years in the three main sports:

MLB - 3.8 years

NFL - 3.6 years

NBA - 2.3 years

If you get hired as an NBA head coach, you really shouldn't expect to keep the job for long.
Also, the NBA is becoming more and more like European soccer, where any coach who doesn't win the league gets fired every year, and firing the coach every year is almost expected. It's ridiculous.
The only way that I can make sense of the firing is if the Knicks are about to trade for a superstar who doesn't want to play for Thibs.

Otherwise, that team is going downhill next season.

If you are thinking fall (Thanksgiving or earlier), then I would consider Tampa. I've been Thanksgiving week on Clearwater Beach and the weather was still great. There's the marine aquarium, and then you can try out Busch Gardens and see how the little one does in a big theme park.
I remembered that these guys went to jail, but I can't think of any other examples. Are there any other sports where cheating can get you sent to jail?

Jay Johnson is not starting 96 mph throwing Anthony Eyanson. Stop.

No, but we could bring him out of the pen as a stopper or closer, if necessary, for an inning or less.

You want team the NBA, its teams, and its players to focus more on real solutions than performative virtue signaling? That's adorable. "Holding mayor Cantrell Accountable for the Pothole Nightmare" is probably not a seminar that the team is going to host anytime soon.

Apparently, this has been a huge revelation to some of y'all that the Pels are part of the NBA, and the league is extremely woke on issues of race.

But I'm glad to welcome all the new fans. Obviously, none of y'all were around five years ago for the George Floyd stuff.

A racehorse jockey found himself fleeing State Police on Saturday as a result of an investigation into cheating allegations at the Delta Downs Racetrack and Casino near Lake Charles.

Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division were conducting post-race checks of each jockey when 41-year-old Ricardo Hernandez-Perez, of Vinton, bolted from the stables. During his brief escape attempt, the jockey removed a battery-operated shocking device from his clothing and tossed it into one of the horse stalls, State Police said.

Officers quickly apprehended Hernandez-Perez and booked him into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He faces charges of unnatural stimulation of a horse. Louisiana law prohibits the possession or use of devices designed to unnaturally stimulate, depress, or excite a racehorse before or during a race. The law also extends to racetrack stables, sheds and other facilities where eligible horses are kept.

If convicted, Hernandez-Perez could face a fine ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 and a prison sentence of one to five years.

Sometimes, I feel like cheaters in other sports should also go to jail.
