You're probably too young to remember the good old days when shitlibs hated the neocon war pigs.

Have you forgotten the Houthi's (iranian proxy) drones at US ships?

You did cite two far leftist sources. Greenwald and Mate.

It doesn’t just have a smaller signature, it has a WAAAAAAAAY smaller signature than the F-35. We aren’t going to risk sacrificing either of those platforms though putting them in a combat zone. Just think of the shitstorm if one of our F-22s went down for some reason. It would be a disaster of epic proportions. I really don’t understand what angle the Singapore douchebag had for even saying something like that.

Aren't the Houthi's sending air drones, and not naval drones? What he was talking about were naval drones.

NOTE: This is a different platform than the Magura V5 developed by the DIU which are used to hunt ships.

SSU receives naval drone with new weapons

The first new-generation naval drone named after Avdiyivka was produced for the Security Service of Ukraine.

The SSU shared that the naval drone has received its own weapons, which it can use more than once.

“This is the next generation of these drones, it hits objects with its onboard weapons and helps cheaper drones complete the mission,” the SSU reported.

The Security Service of Ukraine is not disclosing what kind of weapons are installed on the new generation of naval drones.

The drone’s operators only noted that it would target not only maritime facilities.

The naval drone for the Security Service of Ukraine was constructed within the UNITED24 initiative.

The UNITED24 team, together with volunteers, financial institutions, and ordinary citizens, raised more than UAH 320 million in a day and a half to build 35 more naval drones.

Sea Baby naval drones are a development of the Security Service of Ukraine.

They can carry 850 kilograms of explosives, accelerate up to 90 km/h, and cover a distance of 1000 kilometers.

Both kinds, actually, and missiles as well- and I'll actually source it for you-

Houthi Boat Drones

Etc:
Sea Drones

Seems a phalanx type system would work good but could be overwhelmed if swarmed.

I really think you will start seeing multiple modular small caliber automatic defense packages added to our ships for drone defense.

Nah the USN will spend billions on a defense laser before it realizes that the best defense is a sailor trained how to shoot a 50 cal.

Or sailors trained to top skeet shooting skills with a long range shotgun.

Are there people that think the US Navyvdoesnt have surface drones? Hell, we have an entire fleet named "The Ghost Fleet" because it is entirely unmanned. Granted, it isn't a bunch of bass boats like Ukraine has been sinking Russian assets with. It's kinda like our aerial drones. They shoot missiles instead of suicide bombing themselves into stuff.

Russian forces conducted a relatively larger series of drone and missile strikes targeting Ukraine on the night of March 5 to 6 and on March 6, including strikes on Odesa City during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Kremlin officials continue to invoke nuclear threats as part of ongoing Russian information operations aimed at weakening Western support for Ukraine and deterring Western aid to Ukraine.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director Rafael Grossi and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the security of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and nuclear non-proliferation issues on March 6 in Sochi, Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the governor of pro-Russian Moldovan autonomous region Gagauzia, Yevgenia Gutsul, on March 6 and emphasized Russia’s support for Gagauzia.

Moldova suspended the Cold War-era Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) Treaty on March 6.

The Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) reportedly conducted a drone strike on a mining and processing plant in Kursk Oblast on March 6.

Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Kupyansk and Donetsk City and in western Zaporizhia Oblast.

The Russian legal system continues efforts to use the Russian criminal justice system to augment Russia’s recruitment base.

Well, the next generation of sea drones is going to stay underwater like little autonomous torpedoes, so I hope we're figuring out a way to stop them.
