INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 07 March 2024

Russian forces have continued attacks intended to expand control around the town of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, which Russia seized in May 2023. Its forces have advanced to occupy eastern parts of the village of Ivanivske and are attacking Ukrainian positions in Bohdanivka.

On this axis, Russia's immediate operational objective is almost certainly to seize Chasiv Yar, located approximately 5km from the front line. Despite some gradual tactical gains, it is highly unlikely that Russian forces are currently able to attempt a full-scale assault on the town.

How to resolve the impasse and help Ukraine? Of all people, former President Donald Trump has suggested a workaround -- convert the cost of the weapons transfers into a loan. Trump even specified that the loan would bear no interest and would only be paid "if Ukraine ever strikes it rich."

Just another tactic to delay the House vote on the aid package. Always watch what he does as opposed to what he says.

That's a lesson as old as time that applies to anyone.

The takeaway here is that it appears that Trump supports funding Ukraine's war effort. Loan, Lend/Lease, Equipment Sale, Donation, Disposal....call it whatever you want. Structure it however you think it gives you the most political cover. But Ukraine gets what it needs.

That's a far cry from the Poli Board version of Trump. You can find about 10000 instances of "When Trump gets in he'll cut off the money laundering scheme. Not another cent to Ukraine." That's another lesson in the difference between the Trump As President Fantasy and the Trump As President Reality.... Right along with "I'm gonna drain the swamp!" Followed by: "All of my appointees turned out to be major Swamp Creatures. But elect me again and this time I will REALLY drain the swamp. Promise!!!"

Giving Ukraine weapons is popular. Of course Trump would advocate for it, especially since it was one of his weakest points against Haley.

Sure, offer it as a loan against future Ukrainian economic growth, I'm fine with it. It incentives the US to help Ukraine get into the EU eventually, which is the worst case scenario for Russia.

No he won't
Trumps only loyalty is to Trump and Ukraine
did not help Trump when he wanted them to.

One way transactional guy like Trump thinks
Putin is better for him....and thats all that matters to Trump.

One of the cornerstone reasons Putin invaded in 2014 was that Ukraine was about to develop major onshore gas fields that could supplant gas he has currently running to W Europe via the Sudzha pipeline.

Send Russia packing and stabilize the region, and that market is worth about $16 million a day just to Austria. Total value of those fields could be $50 million a day with customers ready to pay in USD. Seems like an easy way to get at least some return on our investment.

ETA: With Nazis and Biolabs and Super Engineered CIA Soldiers being the main reasons of course. Not oil, gas, coal, farm land, and warm water ports. Mostly the Nazis.

By actively stalling aid to Ukraine for over one year now? That's a funny way to show support.

Again, always watch what he does as opposed to what he says.

It's called politics. Just like Johnson. He supports giving Ukraine what it needs. But he can't look like he does. He needs good old "political cover". He has to bow to the radical fringe of the Republican party with the "not one red cent" craziness. And all the while he is setting up this discharge petition to make it look like the decision was out of his hands.

That's why people have lost faith in the modern political system. Because the radical fringe of each side has the leverage and ability to disrupt the system. No one wants to stand up and say what they really believe and be accountable.

How is this different than the Lend-Lease Act of 2022 which was never used and was allowed to expire by congress?

His foreign policy is an active weakness in his polling/popularity right now.

If he gets Mike Johnson to move, and there's a real chance he will, he'll claim that HE saved Ukraine, blah blah blah. You don't think Trump would make a move like that and claim victory?

I don't care how they do it, as long as they do it. Give Ukraine weapons.

Oh, PS -- the grand irony about this is it shows just how bad things are looking for Russia internationally.

So you believe what Trump says over what he does? And if it defies reality then you just make up something?

He gave weapons to Ukraine instead of blankets like Obama.
He increased sanctions on Russia over those from Obama. He put a halt to Nordstream 2. His tariffs on aluminum impacted Russia due Rusal is a very major aluminum company, it even owns mines and processing in Jamaica.

How has Trump stalled aid for a year?

The Democrats tied border non security with aid to Ukraine.

See this is why i don’t get all the “Trump hates Ukraine and favors Putin” shite. I think Trump’s loan idea is the exact way to do this and that would be agreeable to al parties including Ukraine. The Democrats couldn’t object because it’s wide for aukraine, just with a string attracted. If the western world empties it’s excess military stocks to save Ukraine then they will start manufacturing milirary contracts of all kinds when the war is over which makes wall sides money, helping to repay the west while also giving Ukraine a jump start on getting their economy back on it’s feet. I don’t see how anyone can see this as anything but a win for all parties involved.

Yes. Putin wants Biden to win because he knows he will actually have to answer to Trump. There’s no chance he doesn’t end that war because like Reagan, Trump knows he has the bigger stick and he doesn’t even need to use it most of the time, just know how to remind your enemy how big that stick really is. If Putin doesn’t want to play ball Trump will take the gloves off before he lets Vlad show him up. These are two of the biggest egos and narcissists on earth remember and I’m a Trump voter.

Trump favors Putin whenever he is asked about Putin.
