Is it illegal or frowned upon?

Don’t think it’s illegal but I was told if you find yourself in a situation where the police are involved you could face some type of charges for having one on you. I not really sure and didn’t get a great explanation. I should probably spend a little time researching the rules here.

TSA will break you of carrying one if you travel much.

Girl from my hometown was attacked during Covid in a yougurt shop where she worked. She was by herself one weekend afternoon. Thug tried t sexually assist her. She had a pocket knife on her and pretty much gutted the attacker during the attack.
Cop buddy told me looked like you poured a 5 gallon bucket of blood on the floor in the place.

I looked it up: According to German law, you're allowed to carry a folding knife - that can only be opened by 2 hands and has a blade at or less than 4 3/4 inch long. That means no switchblades, butterfly, knife or knife with a blade wide enough that you can flick it open with one hand. I'm pretty sure this also applies to things like daggers. I do know that a Kraut cop took my bayonette at a traffic stop in '93, but I wasn't charged for it (there were other things involved).
I can see your colleague, I've had the same reactions. Weapons can be a touchy subject here, though I do know some people who align with me pretty much. They have no concept of what's normal for us, and it's fun to frick with them. But hey, my wife's shot just about everything (back home in the US) and had fun doing it. There is a shooting range in Munich where you can go spend some money and ball out.

I can count incidents where I needed a pocket knife and didn’t have one in my whole life on one hand.
I doubt that. Maybe found something else, but could have definitely used one is more the likely case.
I generally carry mine daily, and have had numerous times where I didn't have it and could have used it. I always have a couple of knives in my vehicle, which has made up for forgetting the primary knife plenty of times.

I was taught at a young age to always have a pocket knife to the point it’s part of getting dressed. It seems this isn’t the case with the younger generation
My daughter is 23. She always has a knife on her. Has quite the collection just in case an OTer is stupid and on the loose.

I was in a hardware store the other day. Female employee was a bit down the aisle struggling to remove some plastic strapping from a large carton. After watching for 5 minutes I finally whipped out my…………..pocket knife and cut the 4 straps. She lets out a frustrated sigh, looks at me and this fricking Karen says “why are you carrying around a dangerous weapon”? I say “you’re welcome Karen bitch” and I walked out of the place.

Carry a knife daily.
Use it daily.
Not one day goes by where I don’t need it.
