Not as long as there are fat people and the ships still offer endless chicken strips

We like to cruise the Haven with Norwegian. You get your own parts of the ship that the riffraff can't access.

Yes, most of them do.

I have RCL and CCL so I hope not.

But those are effectively free shares because I sold other shares for a yuuuuge profit.

It depends on the cruise line. While they've been making money hand-over-fist, Carnival has quickly become the Waffle House of the Seas. They also try to nickel-and-dime the living frick out of you at every turn.

The problem for Carnival (and others in their price range) is that their price point attracts more of those who are looking for a rowdy party and have less propensity for self-control.

As that continues, it pushes those who want a more laid-back time to either other cruise lines (Royal Caribbean and Princess being the next step up) or non-cruise options.

Viking, Regent, ect. likely won't feel any impact.

The cruise industry bounced back just fine after Covid. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Only the cheap cruises have this problem.

If you go on boats you have to travel to get to it doesn’t have this culture.

What are the fun things that can ONLY be done anywhere? That's a weird question.

I like cruising because for a week or however long I'm not doing anything unless I choose to do it. No cooking, no cleaning, no driving, nothing. All of my entertainment is a short walk away. It's the most relaxing vacation for me. your milage may vary.

Cruises should be meant for wealth and an upscale luxurious experience. Problem is they scaled it down and McDonalds-fied it so much over the decades, that fewer people with status and values are going. I see videos of sundecks and pools of people jammed in like sardines.

I have no interest in going on a cruise, and this comes from a man who navigated ships stateside and overseas back in the day. There was one company that operated out of Tampa which was an upscale cruise and for the most part the ships were empty. Carnival, RC, and Norwegian are a definite no-no.

Gotta love people with no experience saying nonsense like this.

that might be my only type of cruise I'll do

You and I are in the same place. I told the wife if the shite goes really sideways we'll have the ability to jump ship and swim to the river bank.

Co-worker just got back from her first cruise and can't wait to go on another one.

The cruise industry isn't going away.

These big cruises that leave from ports in the Gulf are my absolute nightmare. I know people say this a lot, but you would actually have to pay me a couple thousand dollars to be trapped on a massive boat with trashy people for a week.

Now, the smaller, fancy ones that price the trash out and go in Alaska or down rivers in Europe, I could do, maybe. Still rather spend that money on a different vacation, but those don't see too bad.

These people act like you have to cruise for a month and its your only vacation for your entire lifetime.

They hate cruises but think Destin or Disney World every year is vacation nirvana.

I used a poor example. But the restaurants that do allow that usually charge a corking fee

The cruise industry will slowly move back to an activity only the wealthy can undertake.

I mean, if you are spewing from both ends while watching Laqueefa wield an infant as a melee weapon over chicken tenders...are you even living?

It's really not that bad.
I went on one a few weeks ago. Had priority boarding so I walked right in.
Ate mostly in the dining room with a waiter who know my name and drink preference by the second day.
Had a nice double balcony with lounge chairs.
Planning my next one for fall in the Mediterranean.
