my original point stands- miserable people need someone (or some particular state) to blame for everything
You can defend California if you want, but your defense doesn’t make sense in the context of this thread. This isn’t a case of blaming California progs for something wholly unrelated to their policies. This is not a conservative area in the state. The California bashing is warranted here, where we have a good business shutting down to the crime that progs encourage.

I dont need to defend CA at all, it’s been years and years since i lived there.. i just find it moronic, and more than a little ironic- that all the posters in this thread talm bout CommieFornia or Mexifornia dont realize that the phone theyre typing on was created in California, and almost exactly in that same exact part of California theyre bitching about .. so did their computers.. matter of fact, the very technology that allowed Tigerdroppings to exist was originated there.. California’s always been ahead of the curve with new technology and new ideas, sorry if that’s ‘omg too Progressive’ of a concept for some of yall, but it’s true .

This explains like 99% of the reason for the fast food closure.

I lived in Alameda for many years. This is my neck of the woods...So the back story here is that Walmart left quite a few years back but continues to hold the lease. Walmart erected a portable chainlink fence and discontinued all security. The lease states Walmart is to supply security which they say the fence did. Fast forward through covid and many years and what started out as a few RVs in the parking lot has grown to the entire 1 mile radius. OPD does the occasional clean up but cant touch the private property of walmart. The only way to In-N-Out is through the same fricking parking lot. No matter what it is a tragedy any day an In-N-Out shuts the doors.
TLDR: Parts of Oakland are a shithole. Especially by the airport (big surprise) In-N-Out has the best burgers for the buck period.

Was my first in-out burger! Oakland was a shithole a long time ago .
If the one closing is the one down by the coliseum then nobody sane went to it for at least a decade. You go to the one about 10 minutes away on Alameda Island. While it isn't a perfectly safe haven it is a lot better than the coliseum area.

Keep in mind this is the main road to the airport once you get off the freeway.

Hell yes, we keep the speed limit 25 over the entire island to keep the riff riff out. It has its own moat to protect it from Oaktown
I gave up and moved through the Caldecott with all the bougie folks. It took me longer to cross the 3 miles of the island than to make it through the tunnel. That 4th bore is the shite!

And this was a very profitable location
7th street burgers in NYC is better than Inn N Out and Shack Shake

There is a massive homeless camp and open drug market that cops are just ignoring off Leet drive. The local judges and DA just don't care. There is a Raising Cane's and a Marriott property nearby too that's probably at risk.
Car thefts also not chased due to laws preventing them. And non violent offenders. Ie panhandling

Im not familiar with 7th street burgers, but you cant compare in n Out with Shake Shack.. one is fast food, and one is not.. i love how people always say stuff like ‘Port of Call burger is better than In n Out’ or ‘insert high end burger place is better than In n Out’.. In n Out is fast food, it’s less than half the price of Shake Shack and Five Guys and In n Out is the ULTIMATE fast food burger.. not overall burger .

That store is in Oakland near the airport across from Oakland stadium and the Oracle center. The first In&Out was built in Los Angeles county.

I have lived in Berkeley since 1997 and there is no In-N-out. Oh..and you mis-spelled Berkeley. You might hate us but at least get you f###n story right.

Oakland is losing everything. If it weren't a port city it'd be a landfill by now.
