Lumber industry?

We have 20+ years of lumber reserves in the Southeast States right now.

Hyundai to build new $5 billion steel mill in Ascension Parish

And just across the river in Burnside, Air Products is building a 5 billion dollar Hydrogen plant. Civil work there has begun. Traffic will be nuts in the area for the next few years.

Could you ever see Social Security actually ending?

No, but I can see it only going to people that paid into it. Millions of spouses draw a SS check and never worked but draw 50% of their husbands check. When the husband dies it ends unless she paid into it. It takes 40 quarters to minimum qualify for SS benefits. Also, Medicaid, which is an entitlement, will go before Medicare and SS. Then put no limit on earnings being FICA taxed. That is what will happen in my opinion. No politician will fall on his sword and vote to eliminate SS and lose his seat. They covet those seats more than their own spouses. Every House and Senate rep have SS payees in their voting blocks. They love those jobs too much. They will cut other funding, possibly even defense funding but SS is going nowhere. All my opinion.

That’s crazy if my mom/sister was in fact told the wrong thing….my dad’s pension was through a railroad and she was told she could either have the pension or social security and took the pension because it was larger. Could the company had something to do with only being able to take one?

The Social Security Fairness Act, signed into law on January 5, 2025, eliminates the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO), which previously reduced the Railroad Retirement Tier 1 benefits of railroad workers, spouses, and survivors who also received public pensions from work not covered by Social Security

I brown the pork down to dark brown and mine always comes out tender.
As long as they know that will result in some ICBM’s with special effects mounted on them headed their way.

Is there even a million people in Louisiana that "truly love" New Orleans? I've live here all of my life and very few people I know "love" N.O. Mayby one friend I know.

I'm pretty sure that is illegal, though it shouldn't be, and the Dems would just love for him to do that.

If you aren't doing your job, whether in the office or at home, then you're fired. Simple as that.

“Your job” means doing what the employer asks you to do for the pay. If part of that assignment is to work from an office then that is part of “your job”. Otherwise, like you suggested, fire them.

Pretty simple to me and I’m not even a boomer. I’m a Gen X man myself. ??

I guess after deep discussion they can’t do shite without our satellites, AWAC’s, drones, Air Force and Navy to do what they claimed they could and would do.
