Lead with you off hand. The go for the eyes after he gets a bite if option to run is not there. Hope that once blinded he gives up.

im told alligators can run up to 35 mph so i think running is a fools game with a gator after you, its best to find a way to get off the ground to get out of reach

If I ever had to fight a gator I may as well give up and let my life end. To find myself in such a predicament I would have a rather long list of very bad choices…as well as being too stupid to stay away from the swamps without a weapon of some kind.

For those advocating for the swing it around and bash it against a tree method I’ve watched enough Swamp People to know that a 6’ gator weighs 800lbs; so not a feasible technique.
