I take it he won't be pulling a Hurricane Michael today.

Barely a cloud in the sky to points north and west of the storm, like Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana

and then the rain has no where to drain immediately on the coast. Happened in our neighborhood on the sound in Navarre during Sally. Surge prevented rain from draining to the sound and it backed up into the hood...

Every inlet, creek, pond and low area is going to flood and stay flooded for at least 24 hours.

From wxman, tropical met.

Note that the NHC's 12-16 ft surge into Port Charlotte/Ft. Myers is for the BEACH. Surge up the Caloosahatchee river into Ft. Myers could be 20-24 ft. Similar for Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. See the NHC's inundation graphic for the region. MANY areas under 9+ ft of water this afternoon. Far as I can tell, this will be the worst hurricane ever to strike the area. Charley in 2004 was strong, but tiny compared to Ian. Ian will be retired.

Maybe it is annoying, but he has been the tip of the spear for storm chasers getting rightfully compensated for their work and content.

Boats are like cars. If you wreck a 2002 Kia insurance pays you $2500 less your $1000 deductible to buy an old used shittier 2002 Kia. They don't buy you a new one.

My boat insurance is structured to pay either value of the craft or payoff for the loan principal, whichever is higher.

well what do you expect him to do? Its an in event situation and these guys run on their own. Its not like they have an agent to do it for them.

And Brett is the actual agent for quite a few chasers.

It looks like the pierside grill webcam on Fort Myers Beach. I'm trying to access it and the Pink Shell Resort and neither is coming up.
