For the short while they had them I was charging Bird/Lime scooters in Lafayette. We lived downtown so it was super convenient. I was making $150-$200/night working 1 hour in the evening then spending about 45 minutes putting them out before work. They ran them out of town but changed their payment structure so I read it wasn’t near as good money anymore.

I don’t do it as much as I used to but would make some extra cash buying/selling stuff on Facebook marketplace/Craigslist/etc. Fishing gear, kayaks, bicycles, motorcycle parts, etc.

I've had a little side work going to help out a buddy. It's actually pretty fun and he pays me well. I haven't gotten my 1099 yet, but I would think $10k extra for 10 days of "work."

I do Prolific surveys in my spare time. You make between $0.10 and maybe $1.50 on average, depending on how involved the survey is. They have big money ones sometimes (I made $15 once for having a video call with a stranger before) but those are more rare and usually require extra steps. If you don't care about someone using the info you provide for research, it's not a bad deal. I've made almost $200 just doing surveys here and there for the last few months, so not "side gig" level money but still a nice little check.

I have a great side hustle involving supporting IT needs for sporting events. I make $500-$1000 per major event (3 per year) and $200 for minor events (20 per year)

I use it to take the family on vacations. We went skiing on it last year

All last year, I helped my brother in law level mobile homes on weekends.

Normally made $150-$300 a day.

You'd be surprised how much those guys make doing that full time.

this

all you guys that have side gigs...where the frick do you find the time if you have kids? or are you just not involved?

most week nights, i get home from work around 4, have dinner ready around 5. usually have to hit a practice up until 7ish then help get lunches and clothes ready for next day before working out at home.

days we dont have formal practice, one of the kids is wanting to hit, or throw the football, practice soccer or basketball.

when the hell do yall have time

Have you ever tried instacart? I think that I'd rather do something like that. The guy that brought my groceries the other day said that he was filling two other grocery orders while he was working on mine.

My credit card gave me a free premium Instacart membership for the next 5 months, and I've been using it like crazy.. like 3x a week. It's free and you just tip, so well worth it.

If I was a gig employee/college student, I would be all about it.

Phew. I couldn't do this schedule, even if it is a chill job.

sounds interesting, what to look for when trying to get one of these gigs? I'm in Florida though.

My side hussle has become a landlord, good move so far.

No. Opportunity cost.

I value my time at more than $100 per night, and also if I want to work in the evening I stand to make a shitload more money just putting that time against my day job.

I do side work, but it's something I enjoy doing. Helps that I can make money with it. But delivering food. F that. Side hustles are cool, but make money doing something you would already be doing.

That's my next move. I'm also interested in setting up a small BitCoin mining LLC

For the sporting event IT work, there's a tremendous amount of systems that are utilized for Sporting Events. My area of support generally revolves around the systems used to support the operation of the game itself. Scoreboards, TV feeds, Replay and music systems.

I got into it a few years ago when someone in my network reached out to fill a position. I actually enjoy my side hustle more than my day to day job. Unfortunately it would require lots of travel if I wanted to make a career out of it.
