I drive for Uber on the side. Thought about doing restaurant work on the side, but I like the flexibility that Uber provides in terms of my schedule.
It's definitely best in my market in the fall and spring, so I tend to drive more during those times. It would be miserable as a full-time job, but as a side hustle, especially since I've been doing it for a few years, I know how to make good money quickly in my market.
Definitely think it's helped my small-talk skills as well. While I prefer to be quiet when I'm taking an Uber, y'all might be surprised how many people want to talk.

I work offshore and work a side hustle, but it's not for the extra money. I paint houses on my days off, like actual house painting, not killing people for the mob.
There's something therapeutic about doing a mindless activity. It's a change of pace from what I do offshore, where I have a lot of responsibilities that require some intricate thinking.

I umpire little league baseball. I’ve done some travel ball tournaments in the past, but the difference in parents between the two is pretty drastic. If I blow a call in a LL game, I probably won’t be assaulted in the parking lot. It’s a fun gig and I can bet maybe $500 a month from it.
Can't fathom how anyone umps baseball games for kids with the way parents are. Kudos to you for doing it.

I do Uber Eats 6-10 hours a week. Only work weekend nights from about 5:30-8:00. If orders are good, I’ll sometimes work till 9:00. If orders are shitty, I’ll sign off at 7:00. 90% of my orders are Metairie east of Transcontinental and Lakeview up to the Orleans Canal. Always take orders paying at least $2 a mile. I’ll take a well paying order to Harahan/ River Ridge and occasionally to Kenner. I try not to deliver to any apartment complexes. After doing it awhile you learn the restaurants to stay away from because they always make you wait for the order.
I’m able to average $20-$40 an hour. And I don’t work in the rain, like tonight.

I was making a shite ton of money doing my sports betting grift that I’ve talked about, but I’ve essentially been blacklisted now. It was good while it lasted.

I own a bulldozer and an excavator. I do side jobs with that. It pays for the machines and it’s something that I enjoy. I’ll ramp it up when I retire in 4.5 years.

Retired now, but while i was working in the corp world I also:
- Taught tech classes at community college and university level for 10 years
- Consulted / coded for another 10
- Purchased crappy houses, renovated, flipped and rented houses for 10 (still have some). Ended up with about 20-25 units before I got out (kids)

I could only drive for Uber or Lyft if there was a category for drivers, "I want to get there yesterday."

Being a Bull is not everything it's cracked up to be but it brings in some extra income.
