My house is a nice cool 72 degrees as always, but my old arse office building is a different story. It's about 85 in here.

Mine stays on 80-82 in the day. I’ll drop it down to 78 at night. If it’s 95-100 outside, 80 degrees feels pretty cool esp with the fan on.

Unless you've discovered a way to lower your humidity in your home to under 10% you're completely full of shite or part reptile.

78 at night? You are joking right?

Mine ranges from 76-78 at night. With ceiling fans, it really is fine.

We keep ours on about 70 at night and 72 during the day. I screwed up Saturday and raised it too high in the morning, it never caught up in our south and west facing rooms.

It does. Home is 5 years old. I’ll set it at 68, the highest it’s gotten in the house this summer has been 69-70.

Granted this is the first summer for me in this house. I don’t know how it’s going to be in August and September. But at this moment in time, it’s doing a damn good job.

Electric bill sucks, but I don’t care how much it is, I’m not sweating my arse off in my home.

ETA: I keep all blinds closed and have 5% sunlight shades on the front west facing doors

If you have to say this about the temperature in your home then NO it really isn't fine, you are just making it work and suffering through it.

I couldn’t tell yesterday if my car AC wasn’t blowing as cold or if it was just that fricking hot.

PSA - if anyones central a/c in their home is having difficulty keeping the house cool there are a few things you can try.

1 - check the attic vents around the soffets of your house arent blocked, they dont let much cool air in but they can easily be blocked, especially with houses with blown in insulation

2 - check you attic roof turbine or exhaust fan is working, they can go bad and you dont even notice it.

3 - if the attic vents look ok and it still doesnt help then use a water house propped up by your outdoor a/c unit set to spay a mist on the coils just enough to keep it wet. you dont want a lot of water but just a spray mist and there are watering timers you can buy that will turn the water on for the hottest parts of the day and then off when not needed. you shouldnt "need" to do this but marginally sized and undersized systems can be helped with this.

But I'm not suffering through it. I'm perfectly comfortable in a 78 degree house, even at night. I'm not just making it work. I set it at this temperature willingly.

I need to build some insulated attic stairway covers. I have 3 freaking attic stairways inside my house.

Might have my weekend project.

Nah, frick all that. I’d sweat my arse off and not get any sleep.

72 max for me to sleep. 70 is perfect.

It's doing pretty well. The upstairs unit is off and on all day but the downstairs unit hardly ever has to kick on to keep it around 72 during the day.

Try not to die up in the attic installing those things. You think it's hot outside... sheeeeeit.
