Nobody really in there. Employees with shirt tails out just hanging around in huddles. Lots of Asset Protection and Loss Protection at front door. I was looking for a new laptop. Place is overpriced I felt like I was in a big giant GameStop. Lots of gaming and junk food which was overpriced too. Not like it used to be back in the day of CD’s and six disc changers.

This place is awful now. Thankfully I left without buying.

They do a pretty good job of price-matching the online competition.

They’ve also sunk a lot of money into revamping their inventory.

I’ve bought video games and car audio components there without any issues.

The loss prevention officer sitting by the door was a post-COVID/summer of Floyd thing.

The same can be said about GNC and Vitamin Shoppe

Online supplement sites were supposed to put them out of business years ago and yet they’re still around and seem to be doing well.

The one in Harahan is usually pretty packed and the way to shop Best Buy is online and save items you’re interested in and wait until they’re discounted - they usually rotate deals every 4-5 weeks, so if you miss it the first time, it’ll usually roll back around.

I did this for an ASUS ROG laptop for $600 cheaper than anywhere else at the time and 4K OLED 120Hz TV, etc. They also run deals on Best Buy membership that offers even better discounts and hassle free returns. I’ve never had an issue with them.

It’s actually a nice store and the employees are helpful

I don’t know about you but I like to see an appliance in person first. Hard to do and visualize on internet.

I’ve gotten some great deals on floor model, return, scratch n dent. Been a minute so don’t if still this way. But when I need an appliance I’ll check there for sure.

Mgr over LA and MS region of them was my neighbor. He moved to another state with Best Buy and recently quit.

Best buy actually ships faster than Amazon and a lot of the times prices more aggressively. They have really expanded their online store front.

They don't sell third party temu as their primary like Amazon.

It's always been this way. I worked for Best Buy in college back in 2005-2010 and LP was always at the front door

One of the few stores these days where the employees generally know what they’re talking about

I agree with those two for sure, but not Best Buy. Still seems pretty practical, and I shop them anytime I need electronics or appliances.

I used to browse Blu Rays, Music, and games a lot.

That's all gone away...not much to "browse" anymore. You can't browse "drones."

I recently got a great deal on a gaming laptop and external monitor vs. online NewEgg, Microcenyer etc whatever.

Plenty like me, I’m sure.

And they offer 12 month 0% so I can make money on that too
