I shop at Best Buy for anything electronic over $100 because i don't trust stuff from Amazon/you run the risk of getting a bootleg product.

Best Buy's prices are reasonable. Their credit card gets you like 5% back, legit rewards.

The stores themselves are hit and miss, but you're better off asking ChatGPT to do research/comparisons on products, set-ups etc.

My only gripe with Best Buy is the return policy -- they're looking for reasons to either give you a partial refund or reject it altogether.

Meanwhile Amazon doesn't even open the box they don't give a flying frick lol

They survive off of charging $30 to take your old TV to “recycle”.

They've lost quite a bit of business because employees were very knowledgeable with products, but not at all now.

Agree, I’ve bought a lot of big ticket items (TVs, appliances, laptops) at Best Buy because (a) some of the stuff I want to see in person (b) I prefer a local presence in case a return or exchange is needed and (c) I’ve lost total faith in Amazon for certain types of items as I’ve bought stuff new that was either clearly used or even worse, the wrong product

None of those giant chain stores are a pleasure like the smaller shops America used to have but Best Buy is still one of the better ones.

Best Buy has the same stupid arse policy where the store refuses to match their own website price .. and instead you have to order it online and set it up for Pickup... and of course it wont be ready for 4 hours

It's always been this way. I worked for Best Buy in college back in 2005-2010 and LP was always at the front door

Yeah worked there 2003-2005 and we had three LP people.

We had our morning meeting one day, and one of the car-fi guys got arrested. He had stolen $40k worth of dvds, cds, video games. He had all the empty boxes behind the car-fi speaker displays. They took him out in cuffs while we were having our huddle.

I bought my TV there last year and had a great experience

I've been to the one on Millerville multiple times over the years. Generally someone is going to greet you and offer to assist, but every now and then you get too many slackers on the same shift so you can end up obviously looking for something yet the nearby huddle of employees just continue to bullshite amongst themselves.

I wouldn't mind seeing them carrying more computer parts (mobos, RAM, etc) for people building their own, but I realize the big issue there is that there's just not that much of that sort of demand here.

Got a new fridge for $1,700 less than other stores.

Not complaining here.

Planning on buying a 100” tv from Best Buy here in the near future around Christmas time. Hopefully they’ll have some pretty good Black Friday sales going on. Although I’ve been trying to go see in person which brand tv I may want but I’m not having any luck finding any 100” tvs on display at any of the Best Buy locations I’ve been to.

I don't know where you live but the best buy by my house is always packed. Sounds like you live in a shitty and poor town. Wouldn't surprise me if you live in a Democrat ran shithole which is not a reflection of normal America

Amazon isn't cheaper anymore and haven't been for a very long time. Not saying you can't find deals but the average TV or high end monitor is priced the same. With Best Buy I can schedule the time they drop it off and they will take away old TVs. I had a 35 year old MASSIVE picture tube tv. Thing weighed a ton and they carried it away.

Also, there are always going to be some people that like to go in the store and look at things. And you can walk out the door and not have to wait for delivery from Amazon.

Couple that with Amazon's 2 day delivery being a bit of a myth now. I can't count high enough to list the number of times they have not delivered on time.

I still buy most items from Amazon but my last 3 montors and 2 TVs were from best buy. And I buy ultra wide OLED monitors and their pricing was better than Amazon.
