The one in Kennesaw by the mall has had a LP person between the front doors since the mid 90s

fairly certain they treat their stores essentially like an amazon warehouse. They were big on customer service and knowledge by employees ( i was an employee in BR back in 2005 ). I'm guessing with the internet people who care do their own research and you just need someone to stand there.

I bought a TV on Amazon and the pick up location was at Best Buy.

Bottom line is they are cheaper than HomeDepot and Lowes on appliances. They also carry a 5 year warranty for like $150 where the warranty at HD is $300 for 3 years...

Honestly I don’t want my TVs shipped and get destroyed. I can walk in and walk out with one and price is close enough.
Sometimes they are cheaper than Wal- Mart or Sam’s. And they usually either have what you’re looking for in stock or will have it by next day.

I have a daughter (no pics) in Miami in school who needed a new MacBook and she went to the Apple Store in Miami. The. Apple. Store. She picked out the one she wanted and it was a week away to get it. It was her birthday so I went online to try to buy it and same thing was a week away. I went online to Best Buy, they had the make model and color in stock in Miami. I clicked. She dropped in and picked it up. No worries. So they do seem to have a good inventory system.

Also now they have the scan and go type feature where you scan pay on your phone and walk tf out the store. Not a bad setup.

We already lost RadioShak which was a nice convenient place to to buy knock-off brand electronics and cheap as hell batteries. I’d hate to lose the blue shirts to Amazon or Wal Mart (like everything else).

it will go the way of blockbuster soon enough. Very sad. i was in there recently to look at some models of tvs to replace my old one.

Almost no one in there shopping. This was on a saturday in prime shipping hours. Spent some time looking at the tvs. To their credit a sales kid (and i mean kid) came and pitched me some TVs. When he told me they would price match anything online, i said "ok, maybe i'll throw BB a bone for old time sake". When he told me they could have the tv i wanted delivered in 3 weeks, i passed.

Their online competitors would have to me in 2 days, and return would be easier if needed.

The one near me is always packed. They also made a really smart strategic pivot about 10–15 years ago that completely changed their trajectory.

They started letting brands like Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung build out their own mini stores inside their stores. The brands paid for the displays and often provided or sponsored dedicated staff, which lowered Best Buy’s operating costs while giving customers a much better shopping experience.

They already went through this period and made it out the other side.

They have been pretty steady around 1B of net income. It's shitty margins, but such is the business.

In fairness that’s a lot of big box stores and not necessarily a new phenomenon. Growing up in the 80s and working at the mall, that was pretty much us, too.

Others like Costco are exceptions but they have much better employee relations and structure in place.

I like Best Buy. I bought my last printer from them. Plus I still have their tech support plan. They did the diagnostics and fixed my computer at no charge.

Looking to buy a new computer (desk top) and I'll prolly shop at their store.

I like Best Buy.

I love their warranty. Just walk in and drop it off, and say FIX IT!

I bought my laptop there and it's coming very handy having that warranty. I've had to replace like three motherboards and a hard drive or two plus get the speakers fixed. It's paid for itself a few times over

We got our washer and dryer from BB, it was cheaper than Lowe's and we got 12 months interest free.
