If you are an engineer most hiring companies would perceive this as a person who knows how to think. Extend yourself outside of your realm of comfort with this in mind.

You know; for stuff

It depends on who you are. 9 in 10 new American jobs created since covid have gone to people born outside the US. According to the bureau of labor statistics

I know that it’s a lot and needs to be stopped. It’s destroying Americans ability to raise a family properly.

That said, o have to think your statistic is a high. 9 out of 10? It can’t be that bad.

No, you are an engineer.

What sort of engineer are you? Chemical? Electrical? Choo-choo?

Here's a tip: if you are asking for help about something, provide details instead of just generics. When people have to pull answers out of you (especially if they are having to repeatedly do it) it comes across like you're trying to hide things.

I’m not trying to disclose who I am.

If you are that interested I majored in mechanical engineering. I drifted into tech which is not related to me degree.

To give you some perspective, remote jobs are typically receiving 1,300 applicants per role. If you’re not connected to someone within the company or apply early, you’re not getting an interview.

I can’t speak for in-office jobs like engineering, but I would imagine they’re still receiving a lot more applicants than you expect.

If you’re applying through LinkedIn you’re completely wasting your time and will never hear back.

Again, what area of tech, another broad statement. You are not outing yourself by elaborating more, the OT is trying to help you.

Apply to the post office and then sue for discrimination against white males.

Bet you will get a job then.

The statistics are crazy skewed towards black women. Easy win.

There are thousands of engineers in Baton Rouge. You aren’t going to disclose yourself but no one is going to be willing to help if you’re an arse.

Trump is hiring truck drivers to replace illegals driving them with bogus licenses. They pay good I hear.

My advise as an HR Manager is to always apply on the company site if you see an opening on a job board.

Some percentage of posted jobs are fake. Companies post and repost jobs they aren’t hiring for to give the appearance they are growing and the company is doing fine.

I guess it's anecdotal, but generally companies do this to pipeline candidates/skills more than anything else.

Very tough. A lot of companies are not hiring and using normal attrition to replace layoffs.

Train engineer should get a job

Rest of the engineers have been offshore to India……

Hiring processes are dysfunctional and most companies are receiving huge volumes of resumes. If you really know your strengths and what you want to do, I would recommend reaching out to hiring managers on LinkedIn and stating your case. Maybe even go to a department head who will refer you back down the chain.

That’s not even accounting for the realities of absurdly unrealistic expectations. I swear that some people could go undercover, interview for their own job and get rejected for not enough relevant experience.
