Why are you giving half answers?

There are a shite ton of different engineering specialties.

With the way he is answering questions on here, I kinda hope no one hires him.

The business will probably regret it.

Have you tried walking in to a business and going up to the front desk and asking to speak to the hiring manager?
it is absolutely bonkers that you used to be able to do this and then be able to afford a mortgage, two cars, two kids, go on at least one vacation a year, have college tuition for your kids taken care of, and never have to worry about retirement

And its even more wild to me that the generation who ruined this reality for everyone else has the nerve to complain about and blame everyone else

It depends on who you are. 9 in 10 new American jobs created since covid have gone to people born outside the US

I don’t know if it’s this high, but the sentiment is very true in my industry. Almost every new worker is Indian.

Supposedly we don't have enough people to fill jobs once we started deporting people.

Some percentage of posted jobs are fake. Companies post and repost jobs they aren’t hiring for to give the appearance they are growing and the company is doing fine.

I’m just trying to ask about the overall job market. Not necessarily my field.

Well, it kinda depends.

It is like the weather. It’s really nice where Scruffy is, but it may suck where you are.

So, if you want to be that vague, the answer is “depends”.

Seems like everyone complains about the job market, while businesses are all running short handed.

Service businesses, sure.

There' a Sonic near me hiring. $13 an hour. They desperately need help. Who the frick is working for $13 an hour other than HS kids? Even then, what does that do for them? That's like $1200 a month after taxes if they're working 30 hours a week.

Nuts.

Or you can go do a trade and eat shite from losers for the first few years for shite pay. Also frick that.

If the choice is be jobless and have a shite time vs be employed and still have a shite time, I'm going to choose the former. At least if I'm jobless I have the energy to think outside the box and come up with a different solution to my problems.
