A lot depends on what you're looking for.

Where did you apply - if on LinkedIn, then you're likely wasting time...

What type of jobs have you applied for?

Seems like everyone complains about the job market, while businesses are all running short handed.

Have you tried walking in to a business and going up to the front desk and asking to speak to the hiring manager? - some boomer

Depends on your industry and what credentials and skills you have.

The hiring process at large companies is currently managed by incompetent HR women. The process takes months and follows no logical order. If you have applied to a job posting, they may not even be looking to hire a candidate.

That is like saying “I am looking for a job that uses Microsoft Word”.

If it is that generic, you are going to have a hard time.

Hopefully, you answer interview questions better than you do here.

I mean, what does that even mean in 2026?

If this was 1946 it might make more sense.

Blindly applying isn’t gonna get you a job. You need to know someone, go look for people you know whose companies are hiring.

Yea, no kidding.

Pretty much every job involves office work.

You’re fricked if you aren’t Indian or a black woman.

Not kidding.

It depends on who you are. 9 in 10 new American jobs created since covid have gone to people born outside the US. According to the bureau of labor statistics

Again, vague.

Why are you giving half answers?

There are a shite ton of different engineering specialties.
