HOA neighborhood, what can they do?

So I have an HOA and a pond behind my house. I put a fence up to the pond and got a letter from the HOA stating that Even though I am on my property, I have the fence too close to the water and that I am in violation of the covenants. If I refuse to move it does anyone know what they can do?
PS: I’ll be in the house for 30 years +

Every HOA agreement is different, but it will be in your best interest to abide by whatever your agreement says. Did you not need to get approval prior to building the fence?

Pam, who doesn’t have a real job and has zero clue how the world works, can take your house from you with the quickness. Fall in line, baw.

they will lien your property and it will end up costing you (or whoever you leave the house to) a frick pile more in the long run than just fixing the situation now

Brgethenet will be there with a bat to take care of your little misunderstanding

Easy way(cheap, no headache): move the fence
Hard way(lawyers, expensive) : don't move the fence

Read both your HOA rules and the covenants in your deed closely.
They’ll fine the shite out of you and, if you don’t pay, put liens on the house and possibly force a sale to get their money depending on the laws of the state in question.

It's the HOA's house.
You're just living in it.

He most certainly should have gotten approval or a permit to build the fence. Also in most subdivisions with a pond (common area) you are either not allowed a fence or must put up the black metal fencing on lots that border the common area.
HOA’s can be a pain in the arse but usually they keep assholes from being assholes. Which is kinda what it sounds like is happening here.

First, they'll put a lien on your house. So, you can move it now, or pay later.
Second, you better not be that bitch screaming that they don't cut the grass between your fence and the pond. There's a reason they want fences a certain minimum distance from the edge of the pond.

You should've looked into this before hand. Every neighborhood has rules on how close you can build to the road or property lines. This is on you, baw. You should move the fence

It sounds like you haven't been there very long. Do you really want to have a 30+ year standoff with your HOA and upset neighbors?
If you wanted to live like a honey badger, why didn't you just get a few acres somewhere?

that I am in violation of the covenants.
You bought the house understanding said covenants. Provided you are in violation, you have to move your fence. The correct thing to do was to complete the request for modifications to your home/ property prior to installing the fence.
Bought experience is the best kind, unfortunately.

What do the covenants say? Post it here. Are you in fact in violation?

tell those over protective and bored house wives to frick off.
the type of person that would join and enfore the HOA's "laws" are the bane of my existence.
