My brother's college roommate for 2 years. I met him a number of times. Very mild mannered and shy. He joined a cult led by someone I met once. He was walking through our dorm and told a friend of mine "you are going to hell". He didn't know anything about my friend, just a very creepy guy.

After joining the cult, the cult leader told my brother's roommate who to marry (they had not met). And then a year later a couple decided to leave the cult. The members of the cult killed both of them. My brother's roommate took part. He will never see the outside of a prison again.

In the late 70’s (yes I’m old…) I worked a summer job between college semesters at the Red River Valley Experiment Station. One of the permanent staff had been convicted of two counts of murder when he was much younger.

At some later point in his life he had been in a bad car wreck that threw him out of the vehicle through the windshield. He had suffered some form of brain damage but was still able to function under the right direction.

Dude was strong as an anyone I have ever met and I worked around him nearly everyday. But when I knew him he was as calm and placid as a lamb.

I grew up a down the street from a guy who attempted to kill his friend’s ex-gf’s new boyfriend. They abducted him, brought him behind the levee and slit his wrists to make it look like a suicide. Luckily, the guy survived and the guy I know has been in Angola for the last 20 years. He was always a bit odd and his family had a history of mental issues.

So I guess I know a legit attempted murderer.

My cousin's husband murdered their two kids and committed suicide about 10 years back. He was in school to become a trauma surgeon and to be honest I never saw the signs. Always had cool stories from the trauma center. He was about the most interesting person at family functions so I always gravitated towards him. After the tragedy, I learned about all the unsavory stuff that he did along the way. So yes, there were signs, but to me he seemed like a normal dude.

Was this in the DFW area? If so I came across your cousin’s website. Very sad case.

I had a run in with this cat back in 2011.... He tried to run me off a little pond I had permission to be at.... I regret to this day letting him walk away from that incident - I had every legal right to go full tilt on him and defend myself.

William Benham Murder-Suicide (2013): A domestic shooting on Redman Lake Drive just off Hoo Shoo Too Road left William Benham’s stepdaughter dead and his wife critically injured before he turned the gun on himself

Well I suspected but now it's pretty confirmed...

Got out of jail in January of 2015 after only 25 years. I feel terrible for the family. That girl’s life was worth so much more and he literally threw her away like trash.

Weirdly enough, 2.

Noura Jackson who stabbed her mom 50 times. She was granted a retrial after 10 years in prison then given Alford plea. Guilty as sin though. Was good friends with her in Jr high. Less so in high school and she started to derail.

Then I knew the guy who drunkenly dragged police officer during a traffic stop in Oxford about 20years ago.

Taplette stabbed Scott after finding him in her home. Police initially released her and called it a justifiable homicide, but an Orleans Parish grand jury indicted her for second-degree murder two years later in May 2015

Used to work with her until this, I still don't know if she was convicted.

Eh, I don’t know if this fits your criteria, but I’ve had at least three students who went on to become murderers as adults.

Yes...not just any murderer! Maybe the most celebrated MURDERER of All-time.

As a matter of fact, someone set me an action figure of him this past weekend.

Cousin of mine.

Was sick of the domestic abuse and got ten years for blowing his head off when he was passed out drunk.

Was represented by Mike small. There was a very wealthy and somewhat prominent family behind Small being his attorney
