Yep, some punk arse kid fresh out of the police academy. I kept my mouth shut and thanked him for the ticket even though I was not in the wrong. I let my lawyer handle that shite later.

Amazing how you don't get shot when you comply and stay calm.

It's been a good 15 years since I've had any interaction with police. That was a state trooper who pulled me over on Veterans in Metairie because he thought I was drinking a beer. Ole boy felt stupid when he made me get out of my car and he asked what I was drinking and I showed him the root beer bottle.

Only one negative police experience in my life. We were in the quarter with some out of state friends walking down one of the side streets and our friend noticed a neat cottage looking house she wanted to get a closer look at. Cop car comes by with two stupid arse NOPD officers who were accusing us of pissing in front of the house. We argued back and forth a minute and he finally asked where I was from. He told me to keep my trashy arse in that town and that I shouldn't come back to the city.

Every interaction with police is bad

Several with LSUPD. They suck. With a real cop? Nah. They've all been reasonable.

Yep. The worst one was when I was with a black friend though. I was the guilty one in the interaction, but the cop insisted my black friend was the guilty one.

The only interaction I could describe as somewhat bad, wasn't even that bad. In college, my friends and I were packed 7 deep in a SUV riding to Florida for Spring Break. We wasn't drunk or anything (yet), but we were having a good time jamming to music in the car. My friend who was driving may have been speeding I assume. We got pulled over. The cop immediately ordered everyone to keep our hands in plain sight, and to roll every window down. We obliged. He ran the tag, came back and ordered everyone out of the car at gunpoint. No one was put in handcuffs, but he did order us all to place our hands on the truck and that he would shoot anyone who made any sudden movements. I was scared out of my wits, and cussing my friend who said it was his car. He's pleading with the officer stating he got it a used car lot 2 months ago and had no idea it could be stolen.

Long story short, backup came in 5 minutes. 3 more cars pulled up. Next thing we know, one of the other cops that pulled up smacked the cop that pulled us over in the head while calling him a dumbass. He proceeded to come up and profusely apologize for the mix up. Apparently the cop made a mistake inputting the license plate info, and that we were now free to go without even a ticket. That messed up our mood for the rest of the day, but we got over it and no one was really mad about it at all.

My vehicle matched the description of one involved in some incident and I was pulled over and the LEOs were pretty intensely approaching with hands on guns (not actually drawn).

Ordered me out of the car, checked my ID and questioned me.

Realizing I was not the droid they were looking for, they sent me on my way. (don't remember if they apologized or anything but I'll go with no)

Guess what.

I realized early on that they though I was someone else. I complied, was respectful, did as I was told and answered the questions I was given and I know this will be a shock but I was not shot or otherwise harmed.

As I drove off I remember thinking "wow, I can believe that just happened" but guess what else, I wasn't mad, I didn't feel a need to fly into a rage and start a big shite show about being mistaken for someone else.

I think a lot of people could learn a lesson from my story.
