At night on my way back to my dorm campus, HPD pulled me over by the big Catholic Church. He said I didn’t come to a complete stop.

Made me get out with my hands up, and stand behind my truck.

He asked me where I was going. = my dorm

Where I was coming from. = Walgreens

What did I buy. = soap and shampoo

Where is it at. = the seat

He had me lay my hands down on the hood of his car, and he went and searched my truck, without asking or anything.

He told me to get back in my truck and get on to campus.




Got back to my dorm, called my parents about what happened, and needless to say, it was handled by sheriffs we know very well from two parishes in the area.

No, because if a cop tells you to drop your weapon or stop, or whatever, you do it because they are the authority. If you show them respect (that they deserve), you will rarely have trouble.

Cops are trying to do their job and they want to go home to their wives and kids at the end of the day. If you're out at 3 am burglarizing, you're going to have trouble.

Yes several the worst was with Port Authority police at JFK when I was working there. There was a fight outside the terminal with 2 taxi hustlers.

1st car comes and parks the car near the curb and both the guys who were fighting stop and runaway when they see the police car pull up. 2 officers get out 1 car. And theres other airport employees who were watching the fight telling the officers the guys ran away. Then a 2nd car comes and stops in middle lane a cop gets out the that car and starts bull rushing through the crowd bumping everyone including women and kids and he's walking towards the 1st 2 cops were and he yanks my shoulder and yells "why were they fighting" I shrug and he gets in my coworkers face and screans "who was it". Mind you by this time the first 2 cops are just standing off to the side talking amongst themselves.

Then the guy starts banging on the taxi dispatch booth where my supervisor is. My supervisor tells him talk through the glass and the cop gets even more irate and comes charging towards me to tell my supervisor to get out the booth. I walk away from him without saying anything and luckily the other 2 officers talk to him and tell him to move his car out the middle lane as traffic was already backed up for probably miles

I rarely go downtown, but I remember most of the cops down there being terrible to deal with. Had a friend patrol down there at night for a while, but otherwise the rest are way too rough. I get that there's a lot of drunk people and downtown tends to attract some trashy ones, but damn.

Honestly, I have never had an issue with a police officer...I won't say they were all pleasant to be around, but never have felt threatened or really offended to any extent.

Now, I have run across a couple of different game wardens who were the biggest assholes I have ever run across. Never got cited by one, but they were both major league smart asses who had no business being public officials.

Worst I ever had was a cop grab me by my arm and shove me back inside off a balcony.

I've had a couple where I was treated unfairly, but I've also been treated with mercy at least once. On balance, the bureaucrats that exist on the periphery of the justice system are worse than they actual sworn officers.
