I had some family deal with this same issue. Eventually mold developed and now the house is unlivable. They’ve been going through the legal system for years, but it keeps getting pushed back.
It’s a nightmare. I wouldn’t buy that house until the windows are replaced and the house has been cleared for mold by a reputable company.
