Check out The Basement Hangout on YouTube. They have a ton of Recteq vs Searwood comparison videos.
Also make sure to watch the cleaning videos before you decide which one.
Just recently got the Searwood myself. I’m new to pellet grills and Searwood has more versatility IMO. Also, Recteq doesn’t have a pellet dump so that was a factor for me.

Master Built gravity series is one the better grills I’ve seen around. Instead of pellets, you can still use briquettes/lump charcoal/wood chips. Produces a much better smoke than pellet grills and you still have the same temp control.
I have a Gravity Series and I agree with this.i love it! Some of them have pizza oven and griddle attachments.
I’ve gone from 225 for smoked shotgun shells and reverse seared steak then up to over 550-600 for the final sear in just a few minutes.
Ive moved to two separate states since I bought it and the thing will not break so I can get a larger one.

I’ve had my Traeger Pro 22 for a couple of years now. Maintains heat almost perfectly.
A piece of advice though if you get a pellet grill keep that MFer cleaned out. The two times I was in a hurry and didn’t clean it she caught on fire and thankfully I was able to get it out before any damage was done but damn it ain’t no fun!!!

Weber durability sucks, especially in salt air. Napoleon makes a superior gas grill. I have a Rogue Pro and love it after the first few months. The base is much sturdier than the Webers I have had.

Weber Genesis for quickness
Weber Kettle for everything else
I have a Weber Smoky Mountain and have mastered it but it’s too much work. I’m looking for a pellet smoker next.

Very True !
But a 26" Weber Kettle covers even more ground. The extra real estate is invaluable.
With the right accessories, you can smoke a rather large brisket, cook a boat load of wings all at once, smoke at least 2 racks of ribs flat, and everything in between.
About a month ago I smoked a 19 lb brisket on mine for about 15 hours. It was awesome.

Go ceramic and never look back.

Pretty good grill. I had mine 8 years before the burners needed replacing… it was on my patio before I got the patio roof. I got a Yoder YS 640 2 years ago. Different animal. Thing is a tank.

I saw this at Ace a couple days ago.
I did some math.
Traeger Pro 22 = $389
Blackstone 2 Burner = $299
Weber Kettle Premium = $249
Buy all 3, and still have $500 left over.
How is BGE still selling these things? Are they vanity purchases?

Interesting. I didn't even know that they made a 26 inch. I'll have to look into that once the one that I have wears out.

You’re gonna be so happy with their customer service when they ship you a new part for free when your shite breaks, which it will. Everyone who owns a reqteq can attest to this.
They’re the biggest scam.

A Weber 22 inch kettle is an absolute workhorse and probably the only "backyard" grill anybody would ever need. The Weber 26 inch Ranch Kettle, if you need more real estate.
Gas grill, Weber Genesis.
Pellet, Recteq.
I also have a Weber Smokey Mountain but find I use my kettle more often just because I don't like cleaning it up.
Perfect world with a full kitchen patio with plenty of room for storage, my lineup would be:
Weber 22 inch kettle
Weber 22 inch Smokey Mountain
Weber Genesis gas
Recteq 1600 pellet
Old Country Brazos offset
Blackstone flat top
That's some serious overkill though, a setup my guy Malcom Reed would have.

Pellet grills are really only good for smoking and low and slow (pork butts, briskets, ribs, etc).
Gas/charcoal pits are good for hot and fast (pork steaks, ribeyes, chicken wings, hamburgers, and dogs)
Gas is more convenient to start up, especially during the week. I do like the flavor of Charcoal more but is also more expensive to burn.
Take all that and find the right balance for you.
I can highly recommend Napoleon grills for any of those wanting a gas grill. I am also a fan of Weber Genesis but would still pick my Napoleon. Great customer service, build quality, curb appeal, and BTU ratings.

Other than my smoker, i use a fairly inexpensive charcoal grill. It works just fine and i have never had an issue with it

I know people who have been cooking on the same egg for greater than 20 years. You'll need to 4 or 5x those trager ,numbers to really compare. Weber kettles will last if you keep them out of the rain.

Been having my PK 360 for 10 years, and it'll outlast me.

Yep. you gonna pay for that extra real estate. About $500 out the door. But like I mentioned earlier, the extra real estate in invaluable.
I've purchased a Slow n Sear (SnS) for smoking. A Vortex for wings. A 14" charcoal basket for steaks. A Spider Grills Venom to control everything.
I even purchased a Stainless steel table to mount that 26" kettle on. So, i basically have a 26" Kettle Performer.
Probably got about $1200 invested in everything.
I love it !!

Get a BGE and one of the wifi fans you put in the bottom vent for long cooks. I typically do 2-3 pork butts and you don’t have to tend to it that frequently. Add some wood chunks and the flavor is excellent.
Had a Yoder 640 for about a year and sold it. Parts/computer broke on several occasions and zero flavor. Might as well have cooked in the oven.
