Not only the best grill I’ve ever had or bought, but also the best purchase I’ve ever made. Love mine. Can do everything on it. I’ve had mine for 5 years and hope to have it at least another 20 years.

I love my recteq byb. But I wouldn't use it as a grill per se. Even with sear plates etc I dont think its does a great job with steaks/burgers etc. I still use my small charcoal grill for that.

If i were looking to do both, I would look into the recteq dual fire.

Or do a combo set up.

But I smoke on the pellet grill usually 1-2 week - chicken thighs, beer can chicken, ribs, pizza, pork butt, brisket, etc. Used to fry my turkeys and now im all in on smoked turkey
Don't regret the purchase and it definitely opens up a lot more than just buying another grill itself. Easy to fire it up and get it going .

We have a Recteq, bought it the year we moved into the house (6 years ago). Just smoked a pork shoulder last weekend.

We grill on a basic, charcoal Weber for the other stuff.

I last bought a monument gas grill. Has a sear station on one side and a burner on the other. Also bought a wood chip holder and a cast iron plate that replaces one of the grills. Really like it.

Master Built gravity series is one the better grills I’ve seen around. Instead of pellets, you can still use briquettes/lump charcoal/wood chips. Produces a much better smoke than pellet grills and you still have the same temp control.

Bought a Pit Boss Pro Series pellet/propane grill 3 years ago. Love the thing.
Set the temp for smoking and walk away.
Open the damper and put it on high for burgers and steaks.
Use the LP side when power is out or if I'm in a hurry.
Also has a side burner for doing things in a pot.

It's also made of heavy gauge steel, so it's holding really well.

My last two grill didn't last 5 years combined.

You should wait until after your court date for blasting through a school zone before you go dropping a grand on a grill. You may just be cooking on that Weber until spring Baw

I went through a Primo phase where I was using it for everything but I bought a Weber genesis on natural gas and I use it 3-4 times a week. So convenient.

Don’t get an easy bake oven. If you want a propane grill get a Weber. If you want a smoker get a stick burner.

I got a recteq patio 800 in May. I love it. It’s a tank and super easy to use. I use it way more than I was any of my other grills.

Bought a recteq April this year. Smoked a few things. Boston butt, chicken, ham, turkey, burgers. Mac and cheese, beans. None of the meats have really been that great. Sides were good. Not sure if i just have bad pellets or just haven't dialed in the seasonings and prep. The smoke flavor has been bland overall. So far im a bit disappointed. I wish I would have gone offset smoker or an egg. Something using actual hard wood.

A 22" Weber kettle covers a lot of ground. No need to overthink it.

I have Weber gas and a GE XL.

I bought a Reqtec bullseye a year ago bc it has advantages of a pellet smoker and also gets 1000 degrees.

It’s the only one that I have used since it arrived.
