I was born in 1965, the job market sucked just as bad when I entered the workforce as it does now. Probably worse considering I was competing with a monster generation with experience. True for older boomers as well. Those born between 1935 and 1955 are the lucky ones.

Why do people care so much about generational bullshite???? That’s how it’s been since the beginning of humans. Each generation is created by the previous generation and, and, and. Went from horse and buggy’s to automobiles to prop planes to jet planes to spacecraft. It’s part of evolution and human ingenuity. HVAC has been around for a long time yet some on earth can afford it but don’t have it.

The older GenX are parents of some of the younger millennials. Younger GenX are parents of older GenZ'ers. Plenty of millennials have Boomer parents.

Boomers were raised by the greatest generation. Basically boomer were told to be quiet and learn how to do stuff.
Gen X was raised by boomers. Boomers wanted more them time and less stay quiet and do what I say time so they basically let the Gen X do whatever so they could do what they wanted for once.
Gen X say and learned what all crap can happen when kids are given freedom to just go and do on their own so a bunch became helicopter parents for millennials and Gen Z.
That’s why millennials and Gen Z are so messed up. Constantly under surveillance and told how to do everything and parents did it for them because Gen X thinks they are teaching instead of just doing it for themselves. They don’t know how to do things for themselves and they want freedom but don’t know how to deal with others once they get it because they’ve never had to struggle to solve a problem.
I think Millennials and Gen Z might raise better kids bc they will give their kids the freedom to figure things out unlike their generation.

I believe a lot of the safety oriented helicopter parenting can be attributed to older first time parents. That and fear mongering in traditional and social media elevating the perceived risk levels.
