Why is that? Is it because you believe crime is worse?
I meant before social media we didn't know how bad things were, kids walked to school with no problem, now you won't see that because parents are scared

I lived in Orleans parish for 20+ years from 1980 until 2003 - my family called the police a total of one time
I’ve been in the city of Baton Rouge for 21 years this August and have called the police at least 5 times, house almost broken into twice, have been followed 3 times, and have actually used my pepper spray once.
It’s sad to say the crack fueled crime of Orleans parish in the 1990s was safer than modern BR - but in my experience, that’s the truth

I grew up in Sherwood Forest in the 80's and went to St. Thomas More for School. We rode our bikes in that neighborhood all day everyday. The last time I was in town, I drove down Flannery. Definitely not safer now.

I don’t feel unsafe where I live in south BR. Are there areas that I will avoid in BR? Absolutely. But I’m also not stupid and know where to and not to go and at what time of day.

That may play a small part but the biggest thing is that blacks don't value anything but themselves. They have turned being black into a religion. Their whole entire identity and worth is wrapped up in being black.

This is the issue. There are a lot more places you have to avoid compared to when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. Culture has spread along with the lack of emotional regulation and higher crime stats that come with it.

As a kid in the 80s, my mom would drop me off at YMCA day camp on her way to work in the summer. They’d take us on ‘field trips’ but basically drop us off to roam free at various parks, the mall, bowling alley, etc all day. Never thought twice about it.
That’d never occur today.
Also in high school we had no problems going to watch movies late nights at Bon Marche mall, etc. Never felt threatened. Take the girlfriend to make out down on the paper clip overlooking the river, etc.
I wouldn’t be caught dead stopping at a gas station after dark in those areas today.
