Yup, and then they’ll blame the minorities when they abandon the system. ???????

50+ years of white flight tends to hurt public schools.
Are you suggesting the schools became poor schools simply because the student body was predominantly black?

Shane beaned me on purpose in Am Legion ball. I started to walk towards the mound, and fully armored Vic trots up next to me. I decided to go to First to avoid getting thumped again. ??

because they couldn’t stand the thought of their kids going to school with brown kids.
Right. Their skin color was the only reason.
So why does white flight hurt public schools? Sounds racist of you to make that statement.

I went to integrated public schools in EBRP from first grade thru law school. Why do you think all those white people moved to Central in the 70s? Were the schools bad back then? People leaving take their kids, their test scores, their money, their interest and their willingness to participate to make sure their children get the best education, all of which helps keep the schools better, even for the poor kids.

I'll put it this way. In the early 70s, about 6 or 7 years old, I could ride a bike, alone, from our house on Frey street near Winbourne all the way to Howell Park to play on the airplane, alone. I wouldn't walk in that area NOW!

A young Unlucky was at LSU during Katrina. And that whole stretch of hurricanes that hit for a few years there.
Unbelievable really

I predict in 15-20 years you will see white flight occurring in St. George at a pretty steady rate, much like it has in many parts of Baton Rouge in the last 50 year.
I disagree. We'll see the opposite.

Again, the 5 highest murder totals in the city's history have all occurred since 2017. I don't know what crime statistics you're referring to.

Back in 2007, two PhD students from India were shot to death at the Edward Gay apartment complex.
I feel like this shoulda been a much bigger deal than it was made out to be. I was a student then. It was a major incident, but I don’t recall a surge in safety protocol.
