Of course his knees are fricked. He's a fat frick that should have been separated years ago for busting tape.

The American people have become lazy and the American govt is intentionally creating a larger welfare state.

It's sad to see. Taxpayers bear the brunt for all of this.

Here's a real sad conversation that needs to be had - there's entirely too many veterans claiming full disability who saw zero combat time, went to zero combat zones and they're drawing these benefits in perpetuity

I agree with you but service related injuries don’t always involve combat. I get your point a freaking cook shouldn’t get 100% for ptsd and that happens all the time. No matter what the program is someone is out there working it and teaching others to work it. It’s not just the VA.

This is the truth. You have state, local and federal governments raising taxes yearly on hard working folks with no real accountability to where their money goes . Add to the fact that you have scams allowing veterans getting paid for the rest of their lives for injuries that should never be considered a lifetime disability. I say that as a veteran.

And not every injury should result in the shite we give these people.

Isn’t the VA the largest entitlement program in the federal budget now?

Assisting veterans through the VA disability process is a billion dollar cottage industry. Every servicemember separating from active duty gets bombarded by predatory businesses whose sole purpose is to help you get a disability rating in exchange for a commission.

The VA is larger than Medicaid and SS?

Veterans aren’t capable of having that conversation because they think everyone who served is a “hero” and all deserve a golden parachute. Fact is they aren’t and it’s a massive drain on the American people

No.
SS
Medicare
Medicaid
SNAP
SSI
unemployment compensation
are all larger than VA.

It’s probably not a popular opinion but I think only people injured in battle should get disability for life. Otherwise injuries are just a side effect of work. I’m sure every plumber out there has bad knees and a bad back. Same with a carpenter. The body breaks down as a result of hard work over time that doesn’t mean the government owes you something.

Yea I made a thread on the Poli Board about this a few weeks ago

40% of all living veterans are on disability benefits

Tons of people melted down because they are on benefits, told me I didn't serve and can't have an opinion, and how dare anyone question someone who did serve. Apparently no one who has ever served could be a scammer and a liar, so we have to look the other way.

I thought the poster lurking was going to have an aneurysm in that thread defending it and have to file for more disability.

A few veterans in that thread did agree and acknowledge that it is a problem and that the bad ruin it for those who truly need it.

That dude worked in the kitchen...

No way he was operating expensive machinery...

When my nephew was in the Navy, he often described some of his Navy brothers as some dumb MFers... I guess he was basically describing this type of guy.
