A few veterans in that thread did agree and acknowledge that it is a problem and that the bad ruin it for those who truly need it.

It’s all about the mindset. I heard about a guy who lost both his legs in the war and he still works hard every day. Him and a fellow vet started a fishing business and did really well with it

Here's a real sad conversation that needs to be had - there's entirely too many veterans claiming full disability who saw zero combat time, went to zero combat zones and they're drawing these benefits in perpetuity

Luckily your ignorance is in full display, so we can ensure that you are not part of said conversation

.

First of all frick you!

Combat zones or combat have very little to do with disability, MANY are disabled or even killed in training or even day to day operations. Those are just as disabled as those in combat. As for the fat guy - he’s a very very long shot to get disability.

The shame of it people like me that took nearly 20 years and repeated attempts to get what I deserved.

much bigger scams putupon the American taxpayers are:
rewarding the least productive members of society for producing more of the same.

subsidized housing

usaid

foreign aid

HHS budget of 110 billion a year.....

100% doesn’t mean 100% disabled. It simply means the maximum of what VA will pay and for someone that is 100% disabled it’s not nearly enough.

It’s probably not a popular opinion but I think only people injured in battle should get disability for life. Otherwise injuries are just a side effect of work. I’m sure every plumber out there has bad knees and a bad back. Same with a carpenter. The body breaks down as a result of hard work over time that doesn’t mean the government owes you something.

I know a construction worker that got right under 900k for getting 2 fingers partially cut off - and was his fault…….

Guess. What service member would get for that ain’t even close to that….. plus that construction worker was making 4 times what that sailor made.

Sounds like a system we should tear down and rebuild from the ground up.

No.
SS
Medicare
Medicaid
SNAP
SSI
unemployment compensation
are all larger than VA.

The larger scam is they know not to marry. So they shack up with someone, have a few kids, and between them, the girlfriends and kids, that family can milk the system for a stupid amount each month, plus rape the tax system.
