The issue is people don't like to see abuse of systems that are meant for legitimate claims for help. it happens across all of them and casts a bad light on all of them.

The problem is nothing in the firefighter example, by itself, signals abuse.You are still treating “100%” as meaning totally incapable of physical or mental work. That is not what a schedular VA rating means. A veteran rated 100% can legally work, including at a demanding job.

So “he is 100% and works as a firefighter” may justify asking questions, but it does not establish abuse. Without knowing the type of rating and the conditions behind it, calling it fraud is just assuming the program works differently than it actually does.
