I think this is still missing it. Some may not be able to see past "oh, why are they working". Others see, "why is he working as a fireman instead of a less physically and mentally demanding job if he's rated 100%." which is what I think that poster meant. That's a big difference. Like I said earlier, there may be legitimate reasons why someone on 100% can still perform that type of job and manage the issues that got them to 100%, but it's easy to see why someone would question that.
The issue is people don't like to see abuse of systems that are meant for legitimate claims for help. it happens across all of them and casts a bad light on all of them.
So “he is 100% and works as a firefighter” may justify asking questions, but it does not establish abuse. Without knowing the type of rating and the conditions behind it, calling it fraud is just assuming the program works differently than it actually does.

Yea, it seems extremely unregulated. Plus, these guys go into the military at age 18, work a physical job for years, then retire at 30-40. It's almost a guarantee they will develop some sort of body pain in that time period.

I'm pretty sure he meant 4/5k... At least I hope that's what he meant because that's in line with 100% (from my limited knowledge) I've NEVER heard of anything close to 40000-50000 per MONTH. Anecdotally I've heard of potential additional scenarios that it can jump to around 8k per month in limited situations but not sure.

Military veterans aren’t capable of discussing the very real problem of military leeches. One third of the overall defense budget goes toward salaries, benefits, and services, nearly the same percentage that goes towards research and acquisition.
