WTF on CNN.com i can find out how to get a 50 cent cheeseburger but nothing about our 80 million dollar stealth aircraft that flew away.
How is that not the second headline below us paying ransom to Iran?

Don't listen to this poster (or any other claiming US military jets don't have transponders). They absolutely have transponders. If they didn't, it would be incredibly dangerous for commercial flights over the United States.
They weren't on a bombing run. The people eating the shite sandwich trying to explain what happened to the media even said the transponder wasn't working for some reason.

that's funny because the eagle, hogs and hornets at belle chasse never showed up... turned off 95% of the time, might as well not have them.

But they do have them. And they do use them. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean ATC can't.

The loss of the aircraft’s canopy, and possible damage to the aircraft on the pilot’s way out, would compromise its aerodynamics, Gertler explained. Additionally, the rocket motors used to propel the pilot’s ejection seat from the aircraft may have fried many of the electronics located in its cockpit.

The fighter’s stealthy skin is so effective that radar can’t locate them, said Gertler, “which is why they often fly with a small device called a Lunenberg lens attached to increase the radar signature.” Based on reports so far, “there may be a decent chance that we will find this plane at the bottom of the lake,”

You think we're all just "in the know" with everything that happens involving the government? What connections would I have with US Marines top brass?

But according to the PT board, it flew to Cuba!!!!

So a fighter jet potentially crashes in a lake on the weekend, in late summer, when there are likely hundreds of boats out, and no one sees it happen?
