Not sure what the OP does if ND right back in playoffs next year.
Kinda happens with favorable rankings and cherry picked schedules AND not having to compete for a Conference Title.
I swear to God, if i find out this is Rage Bait i am going to start a holocaust on this board. We went thru this with Boomer Bait arse Bee Threads. I will not let rage bait prosper via boomer posts.

ND is still a top 10-15 program.
Its needs to be 100 yards away from the 10-15 rank playground. It's been caught being there for the wrong reasons too many times.

Congrats on the unpopular opinion
Looking 50/50 so far.
Maybe i should be like ND and leverage economic privileged wins from the 1900s and have the Media shoe me in for a 90/10 ratio?

Notre Dame, Michigan and USC took a small step back but they're still slinging jokes and chugging drinks in the penthouse of college football.
This some type of Man Cave Fandom talk?
Its gay.

They beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl last year.
Then lost in the Championship. Wasting a perfectly good Sugar Bowl trophy.
Bad product.

In the college football playoff era, the teams with the most playoff wins are:
Alabama
Clemson
Ohio State
Georgia
ND
ND also 6th in appearances (Oklahoma has more, but hasn't won any games).
But sure, collapsed.
Has a Championship
Alabama - Yes
Clemson - Yes
Ohio State - Yes
Georgia - Yes
ND - None (or as papa calls it a GOOSE EGG!)
I mean if you get favorable rankings i would hope you get some Playoff wins for the kickback.
Eta: I just think they should go ahead and put End Racism in their endzone.

but you can’t say they aren’t still being successful with their easy schedule and no conference affiliation
Apparently not if they got left out this year. No one bought that cheap trick. And this addendum coming in next year with a guaranteed spot is basically a Government Bailout to save a name brand.

You do realize that they made it to championship game last year, right?
And Lost.
The one before that.....also lost.
Notre Dame has finally collapsed

Most of their national championships came before college football had anything resembling a level playing field. In the early-to-mid 1900s, many universities especially state schools in the South and Midwest faced major economic constraints, limited travel budgets, and small local recruiting pools. Notre Dame, meanwhile, built a national brand early, tapped into huge Catholic immigrant populations in major cities, and could afford to travel across the country when other programs couldn’t. Add in the fact that World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II disrupted or crippled dozens of athletic programs while Notre Dame remained unusually stable, and it’s clear they benefited from structural advantages far beyond just on-field talent.
By the time the sport modernized post-integration, scholarship limits, equalized TV exposure, and massive state investment in athletics Notre Dame’s dominance disappeared. Their last undisputed title was in 1988, well after parity set in and other programs finally matched their resources and reach. None of this erases Notre Dame's accomplishments, but it does put them in context: they capitalized on an era when competition was economically uneven, geographically limited, and severely disrupted by global events. In today’s environment where everyone recruits nationally, everyone is on TV, and everyone has money Notre Dame hasn’t been able to recreate the success that old-era conditions helped them achieve.
Now after decades of embarrassing loses in the post season in the big games after favorable rankings, the media and the football world has come to it's senses. Go have a seat with USC and Army grandpa your Jello is waiting.
ETA: I'm thinking maybe putting End Hate and End Racism in their Endzone would turn things around. Then some gay cheerleaders too.

11 titles or championships when everyone else was really poor?
Now the playing field is more level and the physical prowess metric weighs heavier than SAT Scores suddenly its "How dare they keeps us out of the Championship run?! Then we just won't play!".
