Family vacay to the beach 6 days 5 nights about $8K total.
Only went out to eat one night. Made all other meals at the condo.
Beach front Florabama area.
You do you, and I hope y'all had a good time, but there ain't no way I'm spending $8k to go to that part of the world for a week. Y'all are out of your mind to be paying that much for that location. So much so that this feels like a troll post the more I think about it.

No summer vacay this year. We have a new roof though!
Was looking at a shoulder season lake house this morning for the spring. Much cheaper before school is out!

I have SW companion pass and points I use for most travel…We went to Costa Rica with son in May- about 3000 total for everything for the 3 of us for a week.
Went to Cancun last summer with family of 6- used SW points for flights and Hyatt points and paid cash for 2nd room at all inclusive, about 2000 total for 4 nights.
Also Went to Italy and paid all cash (didn’t use any points) for 3 of us about 5500 total.
Going to NYC Thanksgiving week with 5 of us. Using SW points and Hyatt points. Will only be paying for meals and Broadway shows so likely about 3000-4000.
Not worth it to rent condo on the beach anymore for 1000/nt when you can go other places much cheaper. You just have to learn how to use credit cards to your advantage for travel.

Just got back from a 5 day/4 night long weekend in Destin. Only family vacation we’ve taken this summer aside from trips to the lake house. For a family of four (one under 2):
~$1400 on flights
~$350 on parking/uber
~$1150 on food/supplies/dining
~$0 on lodging thanks to my buddy
I have a trip in a few months to India/Maldives for a wedding/vacation. Kids are not coming but I’m not looking forward to the final accounting for that one.

I pay for lodging/ flights and activities ahead of time so when the vacation comes; whatever i spend on the vacation, doesn't seem as bad. LOL
Half and Half deal.

Does anyone here in this thread complain they can’t afford a house, gas, or groceries? If so, might want to check yourself. But ohhhhhh, you deserve it.
Easy comrade.
Every tax payer is allowed to party in the US.
It’s like austerity demands that you keep quiet, tighten your belt, and the beating will continue until the interest rates improve.

I hate inflation, I hate USAID paying for Carnval cruises, I hate paying for Cinnabon being on food stamps then paying for their dialysis on the same day.
But there are forty of us family members going to Oak Island NC every year in 6 beach houses, and you cannot stop us.

“Costa Rica. 3 places (2 pacific, one near lake Arenal). 12 nights including in and out. We did something pretty cool on 9-10 of the days. About 13k for the 5 of us.“
Is there a way I can contact you? Some friends of ours wants to go there next summer for their sons senior trip and make a blue Marlin fishing trip while there since it’s one of the top three places to fish for one. They asked us to join them with my son and we’re thinking about it.
Would love to pick your brain on where y’all stayed and some things y’all did and your overall thoughts of it. Thanks.

Went to Sapphire, NC early June for a week for a little under 5k
Went to Destin for 3 nights in early August for around 2k.
Crazy thing, one week at WDW cost more than those two combined staying at a moderate level resort and not going crazy of extras.
Just getting started researching next years trip. Its making me feel poor already.

I live in a tourist destination packed with people and endless ways to waste money, so my vacation from it consisted of spending $500 on a cabin deep in the woods where I could sit by myself for a few days. It cost maybe $10 in gas to get there. I don’t count food as part of the vacation budget because I would have had to buy it at home anyway.
So maybe $520.
Kids are grown.
Wife done r-u-n-n-o-f-t.
frick yeah.

Montana in May for 5 nights. Between flights, lodging, meals, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, fly fishing, a couple of private guided tours in Yellowstone, and tips for the guides, we were around $6500-$7k.

I've bit my tongue and held back plenty in this thread but this is a bridge too far.
You dropped a used car to watch some geriatric whores dance to Chubby Checker in a DL Horton faux town square. That's inexcusable.
