Nah, that one is gonna be under $1k. I was talking about all three of those things combined, but my sentence structure was poor

The question asked how much I spent, I said how much I spent.

My parents covered the rest. I have no clue how much they spent I didn’t ask. It’s not proper to ask how much money a gift is.

We stayed a week at orange beach in may, condo on the beach and it only cost like 1800 bucks. Granted, it was just a 2 BR condo, but i did see it listed for the week in july and august for close to 5 grand a week. Crazy the difference a couple months makes.

We skipped 30A this year which would have been 2X or 3X more expensive and had just as nice a time in fact even better without all the wristbands required to get on the beach and long walks back to the house.

You don’t have to have wristbands for the beach, there is just private access gates to get down to the beach where you just scan to unlock the gate, which is also the case at other beach areas on the panhandle.

I would bet my walk/bike back to the beach house on 30a took less time than your walk back up to your condo

I’m estimating because I don’t have the exact figures in front of me, but our 4 day stay in Rosemary beach (with our 2 kids) and our 2 day stay in New Orleans (adults only) probably combined for about 5.5k-6k or so.

I answered this incorrectly, my room in New Orleans was comped by a friend, so I just estimated how much that would’ve cost me. You can probably lower my estimates by like 1-1.5k or so.

So I've heard. We were thinking about maybe doing that in 2027 (depending on the LSU football schedule.)

Yep. Looking at going for a week in April next spring. Place big enough for 4 of us is around $2500.

IF I have to go to the beach, I'd rather go when its 75-80 instead of 95 anyway

Yeah my 13 year old saying that her summer was "fine" after 2 family vacations and 3 different week long overnight camps turned into an old man "back in my day" rant

this summer was tight on time with everybody's schedules so we just went to Universal Orlando. 5 people, 5 nights at the Portofino with 2 rooms. Flights, Ubers, express passes for Epic. Meals, alcohol etc. $15-16K if I had to add it all up. But it was priceless. Our sons are 25 and 20 and it's hard to get us all together. Our first full family vacation since 2019.

spend $300 on a weeklong art camp that is from 9-12 and you get to pretend you kids art is awesome for a week before you discreetly throw it away!

why do we do this to ourselves?

Yeah, they brought their kids and grandkids.

Hope I’m able to do the same one day.

No summer vacation, we usually don’t take one because it’s too hot and crowded
