Do it your self. Its super easy. I just rebuilt my 1985 25 hp mercury. Carb kit cost about 30 bucks. and a hold complete kit cost around 400 bucks. Best parts go to www.wsmparts.com.

Buddy I sorry you did not catch many where you were at. But I went the same time you went. and fished the same fingers and we caught fish. I have a camp there and you are correct. In the last 5 years there have been more boats on the lake. But if you don't want to see that many boats don't go in Feb and March. Just as good or better going in Oct Nov and Dec. Less boat traffic and fish are on fire. Most of the people are hunting. I was there for Christmas day and we have Housen for our self's. Busted there arse. But if you want to catch go to the Texas side. Last weekend they had 3 tournaments going on with over 500 boats on the lake that Saturday morning. Not excluding the weekend warriors. I waited to go till the afternoon, launched at Solon's and went across San Miguel and bust there arse. 2min boat ride.
Any where really. But they swim about 1 to 3 feet deep. you can let them sink. but then you run into problems of them snagging something and you just lost your bait. I fish them with 25 lb floro line. And after about 50 cast I re-tie. or after a bite. But where I fish them the most is on a flat. about 5 to 15 ft of water with grass under, and you have about 2 to 5 ft of open water on top. If you watch on your live scope you can see that these baits draw a lot of attention. You will see fish follow them often but not bite.
I got into the big swim baits about 4 years ago. I fish at Toledo Bend. So wifie don't know, but I bought about 5, KGB swim baits. They run about 200 to 300 a pop. Depending on what one you get. like you said, you don't get a bite every time but when you do, hold on. My biggest bass was on one. Well on my Christmas fishing trip this year I lost one. Just launched it, and watched a 300 dollar bait just fly baby fly. I tried to see if i could find it but nope. Felt like shite for about a hour. SPRO make a one, but its plastic and good, but not like the real ones. They glide better and are more balanced.
re: What is the boards opinion on hot tub ownership?

The wife and I purchased one from Home Depot last year. We are in our 50's too. It was a non expensive one. 81"x 81" Only has one motor for circulation and heat. It was our first, and did not know everything about them. For us this Hot Tub is awesome. very easy to clean and maintain. Since, it is at our Lake house on Toledo Bend, we only use it we we are up there. But when you are fishing all day and your back hurts it is worth it's weight in gold. Only thing I have to complain about it is that I wish we would have bought the fiberglass version, not the composite. But It has made memories for us. lol.

In high school I owned a 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT. Boy did I love that car. It was hard to do anything in it though. There heads would stick out the roof. lol You had to take the moon roof out and stow it in the front. Many great memoires in that car... Looked just like this one. Still wish I had her.

Look I broke down a few years ago and purchased a pair of expensive socks. The name brand is call LENZ. Let me tell you. best thing I ever did. I have had these socks for over 10 years now and they still my favorite pair to wear when fishing and hunting. Very price though. But you can control the temp and control where you want the heat applied. Most socks don't go around your toes. These do. Even on top. Bight the bullet.
I just did this to my lake house on Toledo Bend. Did a waterproofing on the outer slab (rubber sealant) and did a French drain around the hole parameter. Make sure you use clean rock and a water filter membrane between the dirt and the rock. and don't cover with dirt, just rock. Look up
LINK I used them on everything. amazing products. they have you tube videos on there installations. I think this is where you need to go.. It worked amazing for me.

Before you buy that truck do your home work! the oil pump is belt driven . and installed behind the motor between the motor and the transmission and takes 12 hr. to change. ( inside the oil sump, an have to split the motor an trans to change) they said the belt can go between 100k mile before changing but I know they have been changing them at the 60 to 70 k range. Have a family member that's owns a shop. Other than that good motor but the oil pump think is fk up.
I have something that will work. It's Called
Cajun Power Systems CP-675
High Alkaline Truck wash. POPES ( NAPA) ) make's it!
This shite will make aluminum like brand new!
Warning this shite is strong! ( very strong) will remove paint if left on to long. But I used it when I sold my old aluminum boat an it made it look brand new. Just sprayed it on with a pump sprayer and scrubbed it with a camper wash brush and washed off. I use it on all of my farm equipment and four wheeler.
Best shite I ever use! I keep a couple of gallons at home.

OK, I KNOW A LOT OF YAWL WILL NOT BELIVE ME! I REALLY DONT CARE, BUT EVERYTHING IS TRUE! VERY TRUE! BUT IF YOU KNOW, MY WIFE AND I, YOU KNOW IT IS. I HAVE THREE ENGLISH BULLDOGS. THEY ARE THE WORLD TO MY WIFE AND I. I HAVE INS. ON ALL OF THEM.( THANK GOD!) BUT JUST THIS PAST YEAR THEY HAVE COST ME AROUND 20K IN BILLS. EYE SURGERY ON TWO OF THEM. I GETS BETTER! MY BIG BOY BLEW OUT HIS PENIS AND HAD TO GO TO EMERGERNCY SURGERY FOR THAT! AND THREE WEEKS LATER HIS STOMMIC FLIPPED ON A SUNDAY AND HAD EMERGERNCY EXPLORTORY SURGERY AT LSU. THEN HAD TO REMOVE HIS SPLEEN! YEP! THAT WAS OVER 12K. I KNOW PEOPLE LOVE THER ANAMIALS. WE DO TOO! I KNOW IT COST AN ARM AND A LEG TO KEPP THEM IN YOUR LIFE! BECAUSE THEY ARE YOUR FAMILY. BUT THE ONE YOU WILL NOT BELIVE IS MY PAST BUBBA. MY FIRST ENGLISH BULLDDOG (LOVED HIM TO DEATH!) BUT HE WAS A F--KED UP DOG FROM BIRTH! (BAD BREEDER) THIS WAS THE ONE THAT ALMOST BROKE ME! IN HIS SHORT LIFE TIME (7 YEARS) WITH NO INSURENCE. HE COST ME AROUND 45 TO 50 K !!!!! HE HAD BOTH KNEES REPLACED, HCL SURGERY TWICE, EYE SCURGERY THREE TIMES, AND A PLETHYERA OF MEDICAL ISSUES! OH HE WAS DEFF TO ! BUT THE BEST DOG I EVER HAD. SO AT THE END OF HIS LIFE HE HAD A FAILING KENDNEY. (THAT WHAT GOT HIM!) SO TO END MY RANT ON HOW MUCH DOGS COST, I KNOW WHAT PEOPLE WILL PAY FOR THEY EXTENDED FAMILY !!!! AND IF YOU OWN BULLDOGS I HOPE YOU HAVE DEEP POCKETS!
