No summer vacation, we usually don’t take one because it’s too hot and crowded

Destinations exist that aren't hot or crowded, FYI

Disney cruise, 5 days, less than $1,000

That is the biggest lie I've ever seen on this website, so congrats sir
OT ballers should already be paying more than that in taxes every year, so why aren't we making progress?
Cava has more options and just tastes better
It's awful
Happens all the time on 90 turning onto 310 in Hahnville
I get it, sometimes you don't know that L turn lane will go all the way to the high school. But if you're not in the lane, you missed it, deal with it, go past and turn around - don't block two lanes and screw up traffic flow because you were wrong
I've liked the songs released so far, much more than the Hushed and Grim album.

It's hard for these bands to put out new content after so long without sounding like AI versions of themselves.

The mini-documentary they released dealing with Brent's exit and passing was a tough watch at times but helpful into seeing what went on.
This is the first time in a while I don't really see City pushing the title race too hard
Seems like a transitional year for us and Arsenal's to lose, just hoping City can comfortably finish top 4
Alice in Chains - not the same level as already listed, but I'd argue the best in heavier/heavyish music
Agree mostly, except that many restaurants are closed Mondays
If I take a weekday off I'd like a nice lunch and options are limited

Get rid of the "blindside block"

The idea was great in theory in CFB but the enforcement is terrible. It was designed to stop QBs and other defenseless players from being lit up. But now they are penalizing legal blocks on players that are actually involved in the play.
Need it on 90 from the West Bank to Morgan city

Makes basin bridge trucks look tame these guys left lane camp and go 80 in 65s
Why the hell is that criminal allowed to leave the country?

Crazy Stupid Love is so good I don't even consider it a chick flick

I think in modern times where a higher percentage of couples both work full time the noble thing is actually for the parents to make sure they have themselves taken care of, and it is laid out in writing for their kids. I'm lucky that my wife is able to stay home with the kids and when our parents get older we are open to hosting them if they just need help with basic things... if care requirements become intense that's a different story.

Take charge of what you want in your senior years and try to minimize the strain on your kids. I will have already made most potential tough decisions for them years ago.

Parental responsibilities don't stop when the kids get older - it's our job to make sure elder care is already thought out, saved for, etc.
IMO that's way more important than saving for their college. They can take out loans for college, not for a dementia care unit for mom/dad.
That way to minimize stress on children that are likely in an already stressful portion of their life with their own young(ish) families.

I am at 2.1M and hope to work a few more years to pay some things off. I feel like I have done pretty well contributing the max the last 15 years.

My wife is pressuring me to hire a financial manager. I am wondering what everyone's opinion about financial managers? I have heard stories of managers taking everything from their clients which makes me leery.

I never understand why people think once they reach a certain amount of money they've managed on their own for years, they "need" an advisor.
If your situation is simple you can continue to manage on your own, or educate yourself on any shortcomings.
If you need help for a decumulation phase, then sure.

If you do get an advisor, pick a fee only fiduciary. Do not under any circumstances get an assets-under-management advisor as they just steal your money. 1% per year adds up.
IDGAF what Mexico does
We'd still play them in "away" friendlies in LA and Phoenix
If they pull this off, they will get humbled quickly

Pitch Perfect - this one is probably the GOAT chick flick for me
Mean Girls
Bring It On
... there are some others I can't think of but won't change the channel if on
Both the goals they scored were lucky as hell
No way the Mexican that was “fouled” is under 20
Guy has hairline of a 35yo
