I've met him a few times over the years.

I met him once out on the Tickfaw at the Picou's camp. Shook his hand and told him I'd never met anyone I'd actually voted for. He chuckled and thanked me, to which I replied, "No, I still haven't." We had a good laugh. Cool old dude.

He got rich way before the casinos as he’s been a fricking crook his entire adult life. How he is held in such esteem is hard to understand considering how much damage he did and how
Much money he stole from this state. Yet people think the sun shines out of his arse.

Says volumes for the electorate in Louisiana.

This Mississippi lapped us with their casino acumen and without our oil and gas revenues. Much of present day La's issues rest on his hands and actions.

Didn't he, or his people, float the idea of him running for a State or Congessional seat about 7 or 8 years ago? There was no law preventing felons from being elected. It was crazy to think that a felon in his mid-80s could get elected, but if anyone could it's be EWE.
Dont think he actually ran, but it was an interesting time. I'm sure he used the threat of his candidacy to be paid off by his potential opponent.

its a damn shame that every single politician in this country is still alive. Yes, I mean every single one.

Yeah. He was killed on the steps of the Caddo Parish courthouse.

I can't believe all the people in here blowing Edwards. The man is a crook, is evil, and took the people of this state for a ride. Yet, the stupid people of this state will still sing his praises.

Louisiana would be great if it wasn't for all the dumb Louisianians.

Hospice is a scheduled death--usually 2 weeks

I voted for him in that last election only because I knew he couldn't win.

Given our age differences he was never running for anything when I was more than 6 or 7 years old

You would think that people would realize why JBE wields the power that he does, where he can rule his fiefdom with an iron fist. It's because EWE had the constitutional convention under his watch and totally redesigned the Governors seat so Edwin could become a mini dictator.

JBE abuses the office of Governor because Edwin made it possible.

I do not wish any evil to EWE, but will definitely not be mourning his eventual passing.

My dad was a young state trooper in the early 70s, he was stationed in Troop F out of Monroe, but he worked undercover narcotics detective work mostly, drug gangs, Harley’s, etc... one night he gets a call about 10 pm and was told to go to a hotel in Monroe to post up, he was to monitor a high value target.. dad rolls over there to the seedy motel he was told to, up pulls a limo. EWE and some young bimbo get out, EWE gives him the ole baw salute, finger tip to the forehead type deal, goes in their room, bangs it out, gets back in the limo and leaves. Dad went home. The end. EWE was a silver zipper baw for sure.

He ran. My wife did his political campaign compliance as an accountant with with one of the Baton Rouge accounting firms. Wife is actually the one that took care of a lot where he walked around pushing his baby around in the stroller.

Is there a choice? I mean, since EWE left office, only Mike Foster was worth a shite.
Blanco will be judged on Katrina (and rightly so) but she actually left a budget surplus to Obama Jindal.

JBE is TERRIBLE. He is easily the worst governor in my lifetime.

On another note, there is only one man that could have handled the aftermath of Katrina and that is EWE, but only because he would have figured out a way to skim while he was getting shite done.
